I have one very similar (see pic) in my living room. I purchased it from overstock.com about a year ago. Just looked and it says out of stock. It is called nuLoom modern Ikat Trellis rug. They have something similar called nuLoom Moroccan Trellis green wool rug.

Does the marmoleum from Forbo come in sheets or rolls or tiles?
  • flaswp

Forbo makes both. The marmoleum that looks like squares is tiles (some are interlocking pieces, others are not), but they also make marmoleum (as well as other lines by Forbo) that are sheet.

The desk is 12', not 12" . The entire desk is 12' wide with 36" cabinet in the middle of it. So each individual workspace is 4'6".

Beautiful built-in workspace. I want to do something similar with a study that we have in the basement of our home. We are looking to convert a 73”-wide closet into a useable space, and are inspired by your design here.

We definitely like some of the design elements and would love to learn more, if you don’t mind.

    - How thick are each of the shelves? They appear to be somewhere between 1.5” to 2” in thickness.

    - Where can I find the glass desktop? It appears to be a custom-sized tinted glass from the picture. Does it just sit on top of a white wood/MDF board desktop?

    - Did you buy the filing cabinet at a particular store and then build the desk and shelving unit customer to that?

They are about 4.5 high by 13 wide. I use the old fashioned wire in baskets and they work perfectly. Good luck!

Thanks so much! It is the perfect mid range brown for hiding dirt, pet hair etc! We used Rubio Monocoat Oil in Castle Brown on a white oak engineered floor. 5 years later, it still looks good.

Hi, I am absolutely in love with the rug! it's gives a soft feel and I would love to have it in my office.

Based on the fact that the cabinets fit the space's width and height perfectly and are incorporated into the crown molding, I would say that these are probably custom built.

  • PRO
    Johnston Home LLC

Yes, the cabinets were designed when the house was built. Custom to the space and to our design.

I wish I could answer, but it was part of the overall millwork budget for the house which was new construction. Costs will vary widely depending on your location. Good luck!

Actually, they are 18" wide and 13.5" high. The height fits a binder perfectly. I think the width was determined by the width of the room!

The desk was part of the custom cabinetry built for the house. Prices vary based on your locations, site conditions, and materials. You would need your local contractor to bid out the work specific to your site.
