The materials selected reflect the home’s traditional style and its cream, green and red color palette. Creamy, glazed cabinetry on the perimeter, peninsula bar and the butler’s pantry contrasts nicely with the green glazed and distressed island. Mahogany butcher block on the peninsula bar is a warm touch that softens the transition from kitchen to family room and was selected to coordinate with nearby existing stained wood bookshelves. Granite counter-tops are a creamy beige with some reddish movement that adds visual interest. The tile backsplash is a combination of travertine, green mosaic marble and glass tile chosen to reflect the color of the island.The bead board accents and bun feet at the butler’s pantry and corbels at the island lend a furniture look and achieve the traditional feel the client desired.
