The glass double doors look into the handsome custom wine cellar adjacent to the "Man Cave". The recessed ceiling provides an added dimension to the otherwise square room. A clear coated Mahogany wood was used to build the custom wine cellar. Due to the owners needs to store various wine bottle sizes, many different elements were included in the racking to hold 1100 bottles. A wood louver was built to hide the climate control air handler split system above the door. A high reveal display angle surrounds the room and is lit with rope lighting. The arch in the back of the room includes a front load stemware holder on either side with a stone countertop just above the drawer for decanting. Wood case pullouts allow for easy access to special case wines. Both corners of the room include void bottle bins from floor to ceiling as well as diamond bins to accommodate all bottle sizes. Michael Wilkinson View from the addition to the existing formal dining room. The clients really wanted symmetrical lines in the addition. The living room/dining room connection in the original house had an arched opening. The designer meticulously lined up the new opening to the tasting room with the arched opening between the living room and original dining room. The client loves seeing layers of arched doors from room to room. We reused the set of arched solid wood doors that had been in the living room. We sent them to our building supplier's wood shop to be hung on a new jamb. We installed them in the tasting room to separate the formal and informal areas. The owner has a large wine collection in off-site storage. He wanted to have access to more bottles at his home. The wine closets act as art and a passageway or transition from the formal are of the home to the informal areas. We built temperature-control wine closets. We used spray foam insulation in the walls, placed tile on the floor, and installed cooling systems with the cooling unit in the basement. Mahogany doors with sidelights and interior lighting for display. The bottles/shelving resemble an art display.

This wine cellar design GA is both aesthetically appealing, and functional; it holds up to 979 wine bottles! This capacity was achieved through the use of lattice diamond bin racking, case storage, high reveal display racks, and individual bottle racking. We used Premium Redwood for the wine racks, a type of wood known for its durability and beauty. We cooled the cellar with a WhisperKool wine cooling system.
