Marion Rose 'Longhorns II' Canvas Art, 19 x 14by Trademark Fine Art(2)
Most days, one would find Marion Rose putting on her favorite music or playing an old video before settling in to paint for the day in her spacious studio, especially once the winter chill set in. Her work is influenced by past masters such as Joaquin Sorolla, Tom Thomson, Carl Rungius, Bob Kuhn, and many others that work today in a variety of subject and media. She also studied printmaking, life painting and drawing in college in her 30's. Her subjects come from her life of traveling enthusiastically as often as she could, both close to home or across the ocean. Sketching and studying animals were a favorite pastime, setting an excellent foundation for creating authentic work. Texture and richly colored paint applied generously by knife or brush strokes capture the essence of a subject's spirit and demeanor.

I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. I wanted to be a cowboy when I grew up and my earliest drawings were of horses. I got a lot of art supplies for Christmas and birthdays that kept me working on improving my drawing skills.

Audrey 'New Mexico Canyon' Canvas Artby Trademark Fine Art
I live and have always lived in the same small town and in the same house in western North Carolina. I have always loved photography and art, mainly portraits, and am a third generation artist. I went back to college to get a degree in Graphic Design and majored in photography. During this time I joined the Catawba Valley Camera Club and won many awards. At present I am on my third mural at my church and doing photography. Most of my photographs are from western North Carolina, Florida, Europe and Hawaii along with some western US photos. My family has become accustomed (well maybe tolerates) me yelling stop on a road trip for me to take photographs. I work in a variety of genres including landscape, floral, animals/wildlife, still life and portraits.
Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.

1x is not your average photo site. All photos on 1x are selected by a team of professional gallery curators, just like in a real photo gallery. Our curators have experience from well-known institutions such as Sotheby's and Tate Modern Art. We believe that everyone has an inner photographer, just waiting to be discovered. Getting published on 1x is a great achievement; many photographers whose works now hang in art galleries were once discovered on 1x. It's no coincidence that art directors, book editors, and magazines all over the world use photos from 1x photographers.

Marion Rose 'Bison Portrait II' Canvas Art, 24" x 24"by Trademark Fine Art(9)

Mike Jones Photo 'Tombstone X' Canvas Art, 16x24by Trademark Fine Art
Mike's love of photography started at age 10 when his father taught him how to use his old Pentax SLR camera. By the time he graduated high school, he had also graduated from his 35mm Pentax, to an old 4x5 Graflex camera. From the beginning, landscapes were his true passion. During Summer vacations in Maine, Mike would choose to climb around the rocky shore with a camera and tripod instead of shopping with his family in downtown Bar Harbor. He soon landed a job shooting photos for a local newspaper where he continued to work while studying photography in college.

Bill Makinson 'Zion 2' Canvas Art, 24"x16"by Trademark Fine Art
Although I had no formal training, it was obvious at school that I had a gift for art and crafts. I was happy doing bookbinding with artistic gold leaf lettering embossed on the cover and spine, but I was thrilled when it was the art lesson and always attempted more adventurous subjects. Drawing on location at a local farm was always a memorable time. Music and sport were other subjects that I excelled. Woodwork was a particularly favourite subject that I was skilled at, and making furniture was something I would have like to have done on leaving school. But things don_t always work according to plan and I suppose I am lucky just how things have turned out.

J.D. Mcfarlan 'Grand Canyon I' Canvas Artby Trademark Fine Art
I began my career as a photographer for my high school newspaper and went on to do portraits, weddings, and commercial photography. What eventually inspired me the most was scenic and nature. I have made photographs from Alaska to Europe to Africa. I have given a number of my shots a painted effect and also enjoy shooting scenes in infrared. I am graduate of The New York Institute of Photography and a member of the Georgia Professional Photographers Association. I own Berkshire Photography and am a member of the Tucker Arts Guild.

Marcia Baldwin 'Yellowstone Buffalo Landscape' Canvas Art, 24"x24"by Trademark Fine Art(2)
Art has always been a passion of mine. I wanted to know as much about art as I could possibly learn. I still strive to learn something new every day. It takes practice and patience to be a full time artist and I am finally able to devote one hundred percent of my professional life to my studio work. After many years working in and around art, making a living as an advertising designer, art teacher, photographic artisan and many other niches, I finally opened my art studio to the dedication of purely fine art. I am a trained artist, receiving a BFA and a MFA in the seventies and eighties, respectively.
