Kathy did an amazing job on transforming our front yard. A perfect balance of modern and cottage garden, which is was our vision.

Kathy helped us convert the landscape of our neglected track home into a modern spanish style gem that is the envy of the neighborhood! She listened carefully to our wish list and was able to integrate our personal style with her own clean and modern aesthetic to create something unique, beautiful, and timeless. Kathy sourced the most beautiful tiles for the custom fountain she designed for us in the backyard and recommended a Spanish style floor tile we used liberally and couldn’t be more pleased with. A stucco wall and our own set of Spanish steps lead up to our front door, and our landscape is filled with drought resistant plants that complement our Mediterranean vibe. Throughout the design process, Kathy continued to make adjustments and improvements to ensure we had the best possible design. It’s been a year since our project was completed and we continue to feel like we are living at a resort! We highly recommend Kathy for any project.

Kathy was great to work with over the course of our backyard project which included pool, hardscape, all new plants and 16' fireplace and pergola. She had excellent ideas and customized her plans to fit with our desired look. We wanted low water, low maintenance and resort like feel. She helped achieve all of the above, She was great at communicating and suggested a terrific contractor to do the work. Would definitely use Kathy in future projects and reccomend to others.

We fell in love with a neighbor's backyard remodel and knew we had to hire the same designer, Kathy Henry Exterior Design, to design and build the backyard of our dreams! We have a small backyard and wanted to include a pool, spa, built-in bbq with refrigerator and a sitting area with a fire table. We were amazed at Kathy's ability to make all of these features work so beautifully and creatively in our space. We loved the multiple design options she gave us to choose from. We relied on Kathy's guidance for every level of detail and step along the way. Our project had some stops and starts (by our own choice) due to the pandemic and Kathy and the landscape contractor she partners with were always flexible and easy to work with. She was also extremely patient with us as we changed our minds a few times regarding design choices and she worked with us until we achieved the perfect final product. Kathy really understood our style and it shows in every last detail from the pool tile to the furniture to cement color and every single plant in the ground. Kathy and her team are amazing!

Our backyard renovation turned out amazingly. Our vision for the space truly came through thanks to Kathy’s ability to listen to what my husband and I wanted and bring it to life through her design work. We also partnered with Kathy’s contractor, Juan (Rock & Rose Landscaping), and his team did a wonderful job - kept an amazingly clean job site, were very thorough and detailed and we were extremely pleased with the construction process. Kathy and Juan make an amazing team from Project start to finish and I would gladly work with them again on a future project.

Kathy helped us design a beautiful outdoor experience that included a BBQ unit and countertop, pergola for dining and a custom fire pit with bluestone and top cast concrete for the patio. Other design elements included a planting and lighting plan. She worked well with the contractor for timely completion of the project. I contacted Kathy after I saw a landscape article in a local magazine about one of Kathy's projects and I liked several of the elements and decided to contact her. She met with my wife and I to discuss what we thought we wanted to see as a end result. She took our input and came back with a design that we liked and with some minor changes, approved the project. She recommended we contact a local contractor who was also able to provide valuable input about infrastructure needs and adjustments to the design to meet code requirements.

We couldn't. have asked for a better partner for our project than Kathy. She listened intently to our requirements, came up with innovative solutions and followed through at every turn. She referred us to an excellent contractor and pool company and helped us coordinate the complex. construction challenges of a small site. She has an excellent attention to detail, particularly with regards to plants. Kathy was instrumental in turning our vision for a modern yet comfortable outdoor space into a true extension of our home. Can't recommend her highly enough!

Working with Kathy has been a complete pleasure. She definitely knows the landscape architecture world. Her communication was spot on. Knew exactly what I wanted and came up with the most perfect design for our backyard. Everything was done on a timely manner and she was constantly checking in with me on new ideas. She put together a wonderful presentation which really gave me an idea on what our design would be. I would 100% recommend using her for any landscape architecture job.

I bought a new construction home in the Carmel Valley area and was required by the HOA to promptly install landscaping. I hired Bloom Garden Design to help with the project. Kathy was great to work with - we worked together collaboratively to transform a raw dirt lot into a real patch of heaven on earth. Retaining walls, porches and patios, pavers, flagstones, boulders, decomposed granite pathways, outdoor fireplace, separate fire pit, hammock, vegetable boxes and trellises, fountain, Mediterranean plants, olive and citrus trees, and a beautiful lawn. The final product was truly remarkable - peaceful and beautiful. Several years later, I sold the home. Within a day of listing it online. For full asking price - more than any similar home in the neighborhood had been sold for. And the landscaping - the most beautiful in the neighborhood - was what sealed the deal.
