“We had Heather Wildman design and implement a large addition/renovation to our house that included a larger kitchen and a series of outdoor rooms that included a porch/set of fireplaces/terrace. Heather is a wonderful architect and listens to her clients so that she can create solutions to how your space should work for you. She has a way of articulating how we wanted to live and brought that to the design process. Our space is beautiful, modern yet warm and inviting, and has changed the way we live and use our home. She is very collaborative and thoughtful and listens to what you need while making suggestions as to solutions you may not have considered. She also managed our construction team and was meticulous about details in the construction that we would have never thought of such as reinforcing the floors for an exceptionally large island we were bringing in. She is well connected to expert craftsman when custom work is needed (thank you Chuck for our beautiful windows). I recommend Heather highly and believe that Wildman Chalmers is the premier architectural firm in Pittsburgh.”

“Approximately seven years ago my wife and I started to explore various options of expanding our home for our growing family. We I connected with Darrell through one of my wife's best friend who had hired Darrell. The journey began with what we "thought" made the most sense which was to build a four-season room with additional basement space below along with a detached 2-car garage as we had a 1-car garage. Darrell helped make our vision a reality on paper added sensible touches and value engineered the job. Having never had a job of this size (I get it that in reality it was pretty small), we experienced sticker shock when the bids came back and could not justify to investment to get any reasonable return on our investment. So we paused and gave more thought as to another strategy which was to go out the other side of our house with an open kitchen over a 2-car garage. Sounds simple but ask him to show you the photos. Not only does the space work but he made the house flow inside beyond our expectations. He also helped in re-imagining closets, powder rooms, a second floor bath an an office for my wife. We get rave reviews. Now four years after we completed the project, we are confident it was absolutely the best thing we could have done. Our builder commented several times to me that he appreciated the extensive notes on the drawings as it left very few change orders in the end. We have recommended Darrell to neighbors, family members and anyone who asks. You won't be disappointed if you work with Darrell. He is a joy to work with. He has great vision but also is a great listener. His guidance in the process was invaluable. “I hired Sarah to salvage a DIY kitchen renovation that's been at least 4 years in the making. My project had gotten a bit off track and I wanted help with a better design and a clear path forward workplan-wise. Sarah was excellent at listening to my (sometimes super-specific) needs and preferences and incorporating them into a fantastic kitchen design. I already had a lot of materials picked out, various family members doing different pieces of the project, and some stubborn ideas about how I wanted things to be laid out. Sarah expertly incorporated what was good and provided alternatives for what could use improvement. She was respectful of my budget too. I'm so happy with the finishes that she picked for my kitchen and the workplan she laid out. I can't wait to build her design in real life. I've already recommended her to friends. 100% would hire again!!”
