In Austin, where there are a lot of architectural firms from which to choose, it is refreshing to work with a professional group like Antenora Architects. A job goes so much more smoothly when working with an architectural firm that masters communication, realizes a client's vision, details their construction documents and understands construction practices. Combine all of these essential qualities with outstanding design and you have Antenora Architects. My experience with Antenora Architects was on a project that was site challenged and had some size constraints. Principal Architect, Michael Antenora, executed a design that worked within limited space and gave the clients exactly what they wanted and needed. His creativity saved the client money and time. As a construction management firm owner, I have to say that it has been a pleasure working with the team at Antenora Architects and hope to work on future projects with them. I highly recommend these professionals.

We very highly recommend Antenora Architects. Choosing them was the single most important decision we made in launching our business. Michael and the entire team were always very professional, receptive, and productively collaborative. It didn't take long for them to understand what we were after in our aesthetic, and to work with us to get a final product that truly exceeded our expectations. It was always a pleasure to see what they would come up with, and in turn bounce ideas off them to generate even better concepts. They not only had a vested interest in making sure we were happy with our design & experience, but understood and provided valuable counsel on our business objectives as well. Antenora Architects has been a huge help in getting us unstuck with our house project. We have been debating whether to tear-down and rebuild or to do a major renovation. Working with AA we have made huge progress forward in understanding our property and what is needed to meet our needs. AA made the first step forward so easy by helping evaluate our existing home and determine what opportunities we had for major renovation. Michael took an incredibly open creative approach and talked about everything from raising the roof to expanding the overall footprint. He helped us see past low ceilings, bad previous renovation work, and uneven non-parallel walls and popcorn ceilings to possibility. He was open about what approaches were more or less costly, to help frame our thinking. He shared architectural principles about the flow of air, light and people. And, he did so with a down-to-earth humor that was much appreciated after years of home stress. So far, we have really loved working with Antenora Architects and appreciate them helping us get unstuck on our project and move forward with great design. After our meetings, looking at their other home projects and investigating their creative re-use/recycle commercial projects, I know AA will be able to meet my families home design needs perfectly.

We have worked with Antenora architects on both commercial and residential projects since 2000. They have always provided designs that are attractive and well planned. Michael and his staff are problem solvers. On numerous occasions I have called on them for help with construction and design and they have consisently provided me with timely and reasonable solutions.

From our first conversation with Michael, we were convinced that Antenora Architects was our choice for the project. They were able to take our simple vision and with their insight, ideas and creativity, design a home that was beyond our imagination. The original floor plan has been opened up, while still providing privacy when needed with unique materials and inventive door openings, all with little to no wasted space. With both Asian influences and modern touches, the house still maintains an overall craftsman look on the outside that complements the surroundings in the neighborhood. With their design considerations and guidance on material selection, the home was also awarded a three star energy rating from the Austin Green Builder Program. Throughout the design process, we discussed many ideas and options, and in the end, the team brought all the ideas together into a cohesive design. As a homeowner, the design and building process can be overwhelming. Michael and team are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the building process, and provided much insight and assistant throughout the process to help ease our minds for what could have been a potentially stressful experience. We also used Antenora Architects for construction review and management. Many architects do not understand the importance of the execution of the design, and we liked having each stage of the construction reviewed by his team. From a working relationship perspective, Michael and team are easy to work with, fair, and operate with a high level of integrity. We are extremely pleased with our home and can not recommend them enough.

A growing family necessitated the expansion of our 1946 bungalow. It’s often difficult to envision space that does not exist, and easy to limit oneself to perceived limitations of an existing footprint. We knew we needed an additional bathroom and more bedrooms. Antennora Architects conceived an innovative approach that met our every goal. We nearly doubled our square footage for far less money than a more common approach, and (most importantly to us) kept the charm and feel of a 1946 bungalow. Visitors assume there was an addition, but can’t tell where it begins. This is due to the attention paid to architectural detail, both interior and exterior. I recommend Antennora Architects without hesitation.

Antenora Architects helped me on a tough, inner city, mixed use project. Their experience was their greatest asset during the entire process. They also were not afraid to tell me some things that I did not want to know but needed to know. Austin is not the easiest place to build in and Antenora Architects helped the whole way.
