“We own a 100+ year-old neo-classical home whose original interior is largely intact. We initially engaged Woodhill Cabinetry to design and manufacture cabinets for our kitchen, which was one of the few rooms in the house that we totally gutted in order to bring it up to modern-day standards. While we wanted a fully-functioning kitchen, we also wanted it to retain the period feel of the rest of the house and, in particular, we wanted to replicate the look of the original cabinets that were being replaced (stained, shaker-style birch cabinets). We were referred to Mary Jean Sweeney, the owner of Woodhill Cabinetry, by our contractor. From our initial consultation with her through the time of installation, we found her to be informed, creative and easy to work with. We had a number of persons who weighed in on the design of the kitchen and cabinetry (including an interior designer, our contractor and a restorative architect). Without question, the most valuable suggestions and insights came from Mary Jean. In addition, the fit and finish of the cabinets themselves was absolutely first rate. She produced exactly what we were looking for and for a very reasonable price. We were so happy with the work of her company that we subsequently engaged her to design and build 2 base cabinets for our master bath (the only other room in the house to be gutted and totally re-done). Again, her thoughts and suggestions were right on the mark and the cabinets themselves were exactly what we had hoped for. My exprience working with Woodhill Cabinetry could not have been more positive.”

“We truly enjoyed our experience with S&D Cabinetry. They listened to our requests in our customs kitchen cabinets and provided wonderful plans to visualize the cabinets before ordering. The quality of the cabinets is amazing for the reasonable price we paid (much more affordable than big box stores or specialty cabinet stores). The personal involvement we received was VIP treatment and the finished product exceeded our expectations. The cabinets arrived with all accessories that we'd requested, and the accessories were already installed- slide out pot track, hideaway trash cans, and peg board drawer for dishes right next to our dishwasher. S&D was present from the concept phase thru installation and they even followed up after installation to confirm we were satisfied. If you want great custom cabinets at a very affordable price, call S&D Cabinetry, you'll be glad you did!”

“I have worked with Gary for a number of years on various creative projects. There is no level of craftsmanship he cannot achieve. He's a master woodworker that's a fading breed. Other cabinet shops have used him on their projects because they can't hire anyone half as skilled. His lathe skills alone are second to none. So to see someone say he's a 1 star rating is a sign of the customer, much more than the carpenter. Gary takes the time to match antique trim styles, finishes and even the wood grains of cabinets 100 years old and beyond. There is no quick formula for craftsmanship. There's a true art to his craft that only someone who sees the value in his details will appreciate. Its sad to see someone be so hurtful and hellbent to discredit him as a professional and human being. If you had a bad experience, sorry to hear. That's no excuse to try and cripple a mans career because they should have shopped at Ikea.”

“Situation addressed: Create a complete professional law office by working with owner and general contractor who gutted the original building. Darren brought wisdom, skill and artistry to this project. This craftsman began in a legal assistant receptionist area, moved to the complete secretarial office rebuild and developed an adjacent coffee-bar kitchenette. The available space was modest. The effective use of square footage is shown in the smooth flowing work space. The partner law office appears more spacious because by using a modified closet space, he created rich, oak cabinets and shelving. This enhances the appearance of the stunning custom, angled oak partner desk. Artistic in approach, while adapting to customer requests. Highly recommended.”
