Fillman & Sons Floors and More
Carpet Installers in Park Crest
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 27, 2016
“Fillman and Sons are great to work with (Barry - owner, Jon and Mike). Barry installed tile in our last house many years ago when he worked for another flooring company. His work was impeccable. Therefore, when he started his own business we decided to have him bid on our work. His prices are reasonable (and competitive), he is very responsive and his company works extremely well in meeting your needs. We were on a very tight schedule because we had just moved into our house and Barry did an outstanding job working with our timeline. I have a lot of experience doing this type of work myself but due to time constraints I needed to have someone else do the work. I am also very "type A" person and I notice any minor imperfection so when I say they do great work I mean it and I know what I am talking about. I bided all of this work out and I went with Barry's company because of past experience and I was not disappointed. Everyone who works for Barry does great work. You cannot go wrong with Fillman and Sons. My brother used them for his bathroom remodel before my recent projects and they were very happy with the price and work as well. Description of work: Fillman & Sons removed carpet and installed ceramic tile in 2 rooms on our first floor, installed carpet in one room and on our stairs, installed tile in our kitchen and entryway, remodeled our bathroom (new tile on floor and shower area, installed new fixtures, tub and vanity), painted the entire inside of our house, installed new cabinets in our kitchen and tile backsplash and a lot of sheetrock repair work for kitchen and bath.”

“This is the third installation that Quality Floors did for us. We have been very happy each time. This time they installed carpet in our master bedroom, walk in closet and the landing at the top of our steps in our circa 1900 home. The install job looks wonderful!! They have been very easy to work with. Each time the installers were knowledgeable and careful about the job they were doing. We would recommend them to our friends and family and look forward to working with them again on our next project.”

“We have been working with Martin's Floor Coverings since the mid 2000's on two flooring projects, flooring products with self install guidance and wall tile backsplash installation for our home purchased in 2005. All work has been completed to our specifications and in a timely fashion. Products used in our projects included hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, limestone flooring tile, linear glass wall tile and tumbled marble wall tile. The crew were very knowledgeable and courteous. “Please feel free to call or email me for a further verbal recommendation. Judith Meyer judith@judithmeyer.com 610-212-9877 Ron Evans worked in our home in 2014 and 2015. We live on the Main Line of Philadelphia. He refinished and stained a library/den and he installed an entire upper landing with wood – it had been carpet over plywood – and stained and finished it. He also stained and finished a wood railing that was installed on the upper landing and staircase. He will be installing wood in a pickled finish in a master bedroom, presently covered with carpet over plywood, in the summer of 2015. Ron is an absolute perfectionist and the most creative floor –worker I have worked with. We had wood floors installed in the first floor of our home when we moved in in 1988, but nothing meets the carefulness with which he works. We had been told that our second floor open landing could not have finished wood on it because of the curves in its shape. We had talked to four woodworkers before we met Ron. Everyone else told us that putting wood on the landing was a fantasy and could not be done, and we had given up and were about to order new carpet, when we met Ron and he said that, in fact, it could be done. He found the workers to make the curved wood that we were told no one could make and also the workers who could replace a wrought iron railing bannister with wood. Ron did the staining on everything and also installed the entirety of the wood balcony, working with curves and radii that just about made him crazy. But he figured out the appropriate dimensions of each single piece of wood and it came out perfectly He is meticulous in his work. He points out flaws that I do not see and then provides corrections, i.e. making the baseboards appropriate for a floor that has changed from carpet to wood. He works until the stain is perfect and there are no gaps or imperfections. He never takes shortcuts. Because our jobs would take weeks at a time, I would give Ron a key to the house. He would frequently come and go when we would be traveling. I had complete trust in him. He turned the alarm on and off as he went. He cleaned up every day so that you never had to deal with dust or dirt left behind. His work ethic is superb and his work that of a craftsman. Please feel free to call or email me.”
