Our deck project contained of the demolition of the old deck and building of a new deck that wrapped around the side and part of the backyard. We asked four contractors for quotes and Jamie was the only one who came out with brochures, ideas, and he listened to what we needed. The subsequent quote was detailed with several options we discussed with him prior including drawings (which we expected from each contractor). Tyler was our main carpenter and he worked diligently and meticulously even through snow and ice. The end result is a deck that we are very happy with. What impressed me the most was the engineering of the deck since we had some issue with sagging and with the new foundation, it looks sturdy for many years to come.

Hickory Dickory Decks is the best! Rob Hendricks was amazing—he walked us through the whole design and gave us so many great options. The finished deck looked fantastic. After about 7 years, I noticed a few cracks on some planks on our lower deck, which I thought was odd. I reached out to Rob, and he came by right away to check it out. Our Fiberon deck lost colour after two years. After many calls and acknowledgment of the issue, neither Fiberon or Hickory decks are honouring the warranty. The owner of Z hickory Decks. Tom Jaques has yet to return my phone calls. The installation and workmen were very good. If you are concerned about a good warranty please do your research.

From our first meeting to the final completion of our composite deck we have only positive feedback to give both Adam and his crew. Adam was more than willing to meet with us multiple times to discuss the building of our deck. This involved listening to our ideas, providing us with numerous product samples and colours, providing detailed diagrams of several options for deck layout that would work best, answering our questions, and providing us with his knowledge and expertise in helping us make our final decision. We have been in our house for 20 years and have had no time to upgrade or remodel due to our busy schedules with kids. We had gotten a quote from HDD years ago and just couldn’t do it at the time. So when we decided to go ahead with our project we called them back and we’re happy we did. From the initial consult to applying for a permit, to construction until the very last detail was completed, everyone in the company was nothing but professional. Adam, the manager, kept us informed every step of the way. The build team were prompt every morning and cleaned up the site every evening before going home each night. I am a bit of a perfectionist and even I was solidly impressed at the precision of the miter edge joins. The project took exactly the time we were told and the permit was closed without any issues. I was also happy to see the workers having fun, joking and singing while working- just set the right tone for the job (although the singing needed a bit of work!!). Hughes is amazing. He is patient, understanding and intent on building the deck we wanted. He and his crew were friendly and respectful of our home and kept the site clean and safe for our dogs to run around after every day of work (also found time to toss the ball around with Brutus a bit!). From our very first interaction with Rob, he set his company apart from all of the other companies who provided estimates for our large, second level deck. He provided a detailed estimate and met with us via Zoom, to review the details and sketches to help us design the perfect deck for us. We ended up with a 504 Ft. Sq. PVC deck (including stairs), using the Trex Rain Escapes water proofing system. Rob was always accessible, patient with our changes and need for explanation. He was completely reliable, trustworthy and above all, professional. These traits were mirrored in his team, made up of Mitch and James. Their high quality work and professionalism was evident in every way, from the actual work, their interactions with each other and us, to the cleanliness with which they left the job site, every day. Our pictures, taken in December, do not do the deck justice... We are very pleased with the end result and would not hesitate in recommending Rob, Mitch and James.

New Deck and Pergola I was attracted to this company because of their creative name and well organized website. From the time I contacted Steve(the owner) I knew he was the one I wanted to work with. He seemed really honest and didn’t want to just build us a deck - he wanted to make our dreams come true! He was fantastic to work with and patiently went through different designs, materials and samples with us. Our backyard is small so it was more of a challenge to accommodate our needs. Steve spent hours helping me design our perfect oasis. And he did this even before we committed to having his company work on it! When we signed the contract, his team started and finished the job, as promised, in 4 1/2 days. Erick, Jason, Daniel and Elmer were amazing workers. Erick was the carpenter and his work was excellent and extremely precise. I have dealt with many workers on various projects, but by far, they were the most hard working, respectful and progressional. They patiently answered any and all questions and just seemed like really nice guys. What a pleasure it was to have HDD work on our project and we could not be happier with the gorgeous finished product. We hired Steve and his crew to replace our aging deck last fall, and it was the best choice we could have made for our project. Steve was on time for our first meeting, ready to listen to what we wanted and to make helpful suggestions, and when he returned a week or two later with a proposal, it was incredibly detailed and he brought samples as well for us to choose from. Even though our deck was a small project compared to many, Steve treated us as valued customers, and he was willing to replace our aging fence as well, which we really appreciated. He provided us with a friendly, skilled and hard-working crew to do the job, and dropped in frequently during the process to make sure that everything was going well. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had, as was his crew. In the end, we wound up with a beautiful composite deck and cedar fence that we still admire daily.
