They addressed every question that we had, made recommendations on the wood stove that would be perfect for our household, and provided everything that we would need for obtaining permits. Given our positive experience, we went ahead and purchased a Quadra Fire 4300 wood stove. He walked us through stove operation, chimney maintenance, and was kind enough to answer our remaining questions/concerns. “After looking around online for a new wood burning stove we went to the Black Swan store/showroom in New Milford, CT. Best decision we could have made. Their selection is huge, the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful (and not pushy at all). I was most worried about the installation since our old stove was really old, but they came and inspected the flue beforehand to check we'd ordered the right one for our home. Because of the set up in our house the cost was several hundred dollars cheaper than they had originally quoted, so add honesty to the reasons why I give them 5 stars. The installation was quick (about an hour) and their guys were completely professional. They cleaned up after themselves and took extra time to explain how to break in the stove (very important) and how to use it efficiently. We had the stove inspected by the town (an absolute must-do for home insurance purposes) and it passed without a problem. Our wood burning stove not only looks great, but it easily heats the house and we've noticed a big difference in the amount of oil we are using.
