“Zach Smith's company was recommended to me and after our initial meeting with him my husband and I didn't seek any other estimates because we felt completely comfortable with his calm, capable manner. As complete newbies to major remodeling projects, comfort level was very important to us. Zach gave us an honest estimate for our initial "wants" list, then helped us narrow that down to the affordable scope of project we finally settled on. At no point did we feel that he tried to steer us in some direction to serve his needs over our own. He was incredibly patient with our endless questions, including explaining why he preferred doing things one way vs another and what the cost consequences were of our many design options and ideas. He was great about providing alternatives for things we really wanted but that didn't necessarily fit in the budget as envisioned. We also preferred to buy our own plumbing and lighting fixtures and appliances rather than going through contractor supply houses, he was completely fine with that. Our project involved the following: complete kitchen gut including removing one wall (which necessitated a creative solution for re routing HVAC ductwork); replacing existing subfloor throughout main level and placing hardwood; enclosing open tread stairway and replacing rails with modern steel railings; new front and back doors plus 3 interior door replacements; master bath remodel involving completely rebuilt tiled shower and floors, new cabinet door and drawer fronts, lighting and plumbing; new baseboards, door and window trim and paint throughout. We were very impressed not only with Zach's own crew, but also all of his subs - particularly the cabinet and hardwood guys, who each spent a lot of time with us and were extremely helpful, and the tile work was amazing. Project was completed approximately 1 month later than originally scheduled, however several factors contributed to the time overrun and we were not unhappy with the time frame. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend Owyhee Enterprises LLC to anyone planning a home renovation in Idaho.”
