“We worked with Anne on a 20 year old master bath/suite remodel that evolved into a whole house renovation. The master bath/suite was redesigned first and included a custom window, free standing tub, custom vanities with Brazilian marble and limestone back splash. The shower was enlarged with varying sizes of ceramic tile, rain head, niches and built in seat. The linen closet was replaced with a built in linen cabinet and pocket doors were installed. The master bedroom was redesigned with his and her closets, overhead task and art lighting. The powder room has a custom concrete sink, copper back splash and wall mounted plumbing. All the spaces have new paint, lighting and hardwood floors. My initial contact with Anne was through Houzz when I posted a question and I later contacted her to work with me on a as "needed" basis. I soon realized the benefits of design expertise and hired Anne to manage the full scope of the project. Anne is especially adept at spacial planning. She made sure that our cabinets would be shortened in length, so the tub would fit at just the right angle and the window would be just the right height, etc. She has an great eye for color and is mindful of the budget. She was always responsive to our emails and phone calls which sometimes seemed like true emergencies. She got along great with the tradesman we hired and was also able to appropriately recommend as needed.”

“I worked with Carrie Moore to transform our master bedroom into a sanctuary. Her work originally caught my attention due to her years of experience in sustainable design and concern for health, wellness, and use of biophilic principles – a rare combination in residential interior design. After an initial visit to our house and thoughtful inquiry into our goals for the space, she provided a clear scope of work and estimate of her fees. The scope of work included a layout, idea board, color and product recommendations, and sourcing of products as needed. Carrie tuned into our aesthetic right away and gently challenged us to simplify the room to help accomplish our goals. She used some pieces that we already owned, found the art at an estate sale, ordered the bedding when it was on sale, and found a ‘look for less’ rug at a discount store. All of these efficiencies allowed us to invest in some designer lighting and in two custom bedside tables (that she designed) from a local metal artist. I especially appreciated that she seemed to have good relationships and good communication with all of the contractors that worked on the project – painters, window shade installer, metal artist, etc. This made the execution feel seamless. The project turned out beautifully - it is restful while being inspiring and highlights the nature outside our windows. We will work with Carrie again.”

“My husband and I, both Hawaii residents, bought a 1900 sf penthouse condominium in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was in its original 1995 condition and in need of a complete renovation. We chose Kotero Design to create and oversee the design. Lisa Kotero provided detailed demolition, plumbing, electrical, framing, finish and fixture plans to our contractor. And, Kotero Design stuck with us throughout the project as we faced challenge after challenge due to the unknowns that come from doing major renovation of a top-floor condominium. We truly appreciated her attention to detail, strong design sense, and capabilities in successfully communicating with a breadth of sub-contractors. Perhaps most important of all, Lisa listened intently in what we wanted our new home to be and she delivered it for us, even as our thoughts evolved a bit during the project. We very highly recommend Kotero Design to anyone who seeks excellence in their interior design project.”

“I worked with Kristin Bartone Interiors to redo our bathroom. Kristin was very professional and a delight to work with. She was great about working within our budget, and I love the result! Kristin was able to suggest which existing elements we could keep (thus cutting some expenses), and was able to coach me on how to perform some of the work myself. Kristin's sense of color is excellent. At first I wasn’t sure about some of her suggestions, wondering “should we just paint it a neutral, like white?” but I love the colors she recommended, and the contrast really made things “pop.” In the end, it saved me a lot of time as I wasn’t doing “trial and error,” and just did the work once. Our bathroom looks totally refreshed, all for a very reasonable price tag!”
