“I hired Chuen Yee of MCYIA after reading an article about remodel project in our local newspaper where she was the designer. I was impressed with her ability to find incorporate big box products when appropriate along with custom work. The transformation of this home impressed me and I decided to give her a call. I had been thinking of remodeling my kitchen for 20 years but never knew how to get started. From the first phone call I could tell Chuen was the one to get this long overdue project off the ground. After living with a challenging kitchen for 20 years, I knew exactly where I wanted more countertop space, where my oven should be moved, and that I wanted a more modern clean design. I can't think of anything more unpleasant that pouring over magazines, or looking at local store for products. It's just not my thing. Chuen designed both my kitchen and master bath. She immediately understood my aesthetic and found beautiful and reasonably priced tile, lighting, flooring, etc. Her relationships with local vendors as well as online companies saved me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. She was also helpful in finding ways to minimize shipping charges to Hawaii. The builder I used was also impressed. He said he finally met a designer that not only provided her vision, but knew exactly how to execute it. She provided him with detailed information about window bump outs, LED lighting transformers, etc. Chuen was always available to answer questions via text, email, and phone. She is easy to work with, never appears stressed, and has incredible patience. She checked in often onsite to make sure the project was moving along properly.”
