Sam took me to work sites, and had me meeting designer Shon, on phone with his manager, Idan. The team works very well together. I like that. Sam has the ability to remove all the doubts and questions I have, and he is a creative problem solver I did not mark a 5 star because we just started. Sometimes, Joey don't reply my text right away, I understand that everybody is busy, and I don't immediately reply everything either, and on issues gating the progress, Sam is very responsive. All in all, things look good.”

“We have been working with Sami, Shon and Tom for over 2 years in around the Bay Area. As an architectural design professional, I really enjoy completing projects after projects with them. They are easy to work with, very responsive, honest, and they care about the home owners' budget, time and expectations. Construction is always a heavy task. But Sami and his team make it easier for everyone, including me as a designer. Their team keeps the progress updated and provides all the roles enough information in time for decision making. They do have the experience to deliver a quality service. And from the design point of view, Sami is experienced and can provide really good solutions and material suggestions. In a project, his fast feedback allowed us to change the operable skylights to a better size to save some money for the client. “Work was needed on an upstairs deck. There was visible rot. As the job progresses, Steve found and fixed hidden rot doing all that was necessary, but not over reaching. County building inspector stopped by to check the work and commented that he was impressed that the work was so thorough and well done. No corners cut. My neighbor, someone very critical about the workmanship of others, after seeing the completed deck, hired steve to do work at his house. He was on time and on budget. To be honest, the bid was higher than others. That said, I was not "nickle and dimed" at all. After coming in on time, in budget with exceptional quality, I think It was well worth it. I'm sleeping well.”

“Renovation of kids' bathroom: 4 week | $20K; Layout: same House style: Tudor (5 bedrooms; 3.5 baths) Design: all new Groehl hardware with satin nickel, granite countertop, 2 undermounted Kolher sinks, Toto toilet, subway tiles in shower/bath with blue/gray grout and blue/gray floor tiles, new Panasonic LED light & fan on timer. This bathroom had the 80s decor with wall-to-wall pink tiles & matching pink fixtures & gold hardware. After 8-years of living with the eye sour, a recent toilet problem and ongoing poor ventilation, it was time to rip out the old and update. Being a management consultant, I'm juggling deadlines, costs, options and people all the time. Jesse & his team worked well with this mindset and my wishes. When we hired Jesse among the 4 we interviewed, he knew we were ready for this project when he saw all the fixtures, hardware, flooring and tiles were already waiting for him in the garage. Jesse wasn't part of my design process, but he gave great input & options when I needed to make timely decisions like tile work, venting & counter fabrication. What I enjoyed about working with Jesse was his communications & planning. He worked with all medium: text, email & phone. He & crew responded quickly. Before the project started, Jesse gave me a timeline which I incorporated into my calendar. For each week, I knew the progression and what tasks I needed to complete to keep the team moving ahead. The project was finished on time. My next project is the master bath. It's got a strange layout. We hope to incorporate a walk-in closet from our bedroom which we don't have. I look forward to working with Jesse on this one and I will definitely need his design skills.”

“Artistic Kitchen and Design has remodeled our kitchen and both our bathrooms of our Eichler house. We chose AKD because they are a "one stop shop". They handled the design, project management, inspections, and all the labor for all the projects. The designs do speak for themselves. They were designed to our liking and have made our living space more usable than it ever was before. Sylwia designed our kitchen. We ran into some issues that we did not anticipate, but we were not surprised since the house is older and previous remodels were not done to code. All changes (electrical, plumbing, architectural, etc.) are now to code. One issue encountered was upgrading the electrical to the island in our kitchen. Because the original electrical pipe was not thick enough to pull old and new wires through, a new pipe had to be installed to get electrical to the island. There was also an issue after the project was done where the fan/vent installed had a small leak...which was only discovered after heavy rains. AKD fixed this issue promptly. Sylwia's design gave us a great-looking kitchen, more storage, and more natural light. We did use a temporary storage area for our kitchen furniture, but AKD did build a small covered area within the kitchen/dining area for temporary use (ie. microwave, refrigerator). Yana designed both our bathrooms. We love the pebbled shower floor in the Master. The colors make the room interesting dry or wet. Make sure the water drains to the drain and doesn't puddle. The puddling can be fixed. The use of pebbles and colors, and the materials that Yana chose was on target for the zen-ish look and feel that I wanted the bathroom to have. Without her vision of design, I'm not sure we would have gotten the room we wanted. We are very happy with this bathroom. I only wish our kids would stay out of it more often, but they find the pebbles so interesting. The guest bathroom has more storage and is pleasantly a new look from the previous bathroom. The tiles, vanity, lighting, and colors really came together to give the bathroom a new look and feel. Even though the toilet, sink, tub/shower are in the same place as the previous look, the transformation is immense with Yana's design. The colors added with the rain glass window make the bathroom brighter and much more pleasant than the former bathroom. Because most Eichlers have radiant heating, be sure to have a radiant heating expert check for any leaks and get those fixed before any tile work is done. AKD was able to find some piping in our master bathroom that had to be re-worked because the previous work on a pipe there was not done correctly. I like the way AKD staff works together to find solutions to the problems encountered. I will post pictures of the projects once the final pictures are ready. I got this home knowing it’s a fixer upper and I just really wanted to get it updated just as soon as I could and in budget for a flip. Luckily Mark and Shay were able to draw me up a 3D mock up design and I signed the contract yesterday.
