They presented a draft design, in detail, including photos of the recommended plants placed in the suggested locations, so I knew exactly what was going where. “I'm a resident in a 12 townhome "U"-shaped community with a courtyard and two "wing yards" stretching along the public sidewalk. Our landscaping at the beginning of the year (2016) consisted of 15 full grown trees, some shrubs, and struggling ground cover with a great deal of bare areas. The 30-foot trees dominated the landscape, inhibiting plant variety for lack of sunlight. Additionally, when it rained we experienced soil erosion spreading mud over the public sidewalk and courtyard walkway when it rained. This spring we (the townhome owners) decided to contact McAdam Landscaping for a remedy. Our contact person was Scott McAdam who presented us an elegant design. It called for the removal of all but two of the trees, arranging to have Davis Tree Care to handle that aspect (which they did very professionally), and the substitution of six ornamental trees and a wonderful variety of shrubs, conifers, perennials and ground cover laid out in a flowing, very aesthically-pleasing arrangement. The graphic plan placed little demand on us to envision what it would look like in the end. Scott worked with us to make a few minor adjustments that reduced the cost appreciably without departing from the overall design, displaying patience as we worked through the cumbersome internal process of deliberation, approval and payment collection. The plan was approved by the owners of all 12 townhomes at the very end of August and the job was completed in September. We are quite pleased with the final product. The mud erosion problem has been arrested. A neighbor who is an experienced gardner herself shared this: ""Scott's thoughtful design and vision has brought new energy and fluidity to our community courtyard. The use of native plants addresses our need for a low maintenance, high impact green space pleasing to the eye, and increasing our property value & appearance." Another neighbor added: "I also really appreciate his [Scott McAdam's] attention to color in all seasons. I loved how the bushes and trees turned this fall, and look forward to seeing the colors in the other seasons as well." The frog of a landscape we began the year with has been kissed. “I was referred to and hired Beary Landscaping and Nick Hubbard as Project Manager in 2013 when I was having an in-ground pool installed. Nick and Beary handled a complete renovation of my outdoor space and conversion of it to an unbelievable outdoor living space complete with large flowing paver patio around my pool area and throughout my backyard. Nick installed marble countertop areas customized for a smoker, sink, natural gas grill, refrigerator and under-counter storage. He handled coordination and construction of a giant pergola over the outdoor cooking and dining space as well as a separate cabana. There is also a built in fire pit and area with an outdoor game table. The cabana has a natural gas fireplace and flat panel outdoor TV as does the pergola area. There are outdoor overhead fans, multiple lighting sources and extensive built-in sound system. There is an outdoor shower and the entire backyard outdoor space is completely private from the outside world all sides. Nick and Beary also installed a full paver driveway and pathways and renovated the entire front landscaping portion of my home. Landscape lighting was installed everywhere. Nick handled all subcontractors including the pool company, carpenter, electrician, plumber, irrigation, gas company, etc. and the job was huge, starting in spring 2013 and not ending until around Thanksgiving. Nick came in on time and in budget. This was one of the best home improvement/construction experiences I have ever witnessed (I've had my share of really bad ones) and I don't know that anyone could have handled it as well as Nick and Beary did. It was perfect. For the past four-and-a-half years, since spring 2013, I have used Beary Landscaping for my weekly yard maintenance as well as for my annual spring plantings, fall plantings and winter decor plantings. Nick has assumed a larger role at Beary so I have been working with Sandra Koslowski from Beary for the past few years and haven't missed a beat. She is every bit as good as NIck with respect to design an eye for detail. Sandra and Nick have always been very direct and honest and I would strongly recommend them and Beary to anyone in need of extremely good landscape design, decor and maintenance. When I find a quality contractor, I let people know about it because good contractors are so hard to find. Nick Hubbard, Sandra Koslowski and Beary Landscaping are as good as it gets.”
