We are extremely happy with our luxury pool, spa, and backyard makeover courtesy of Downunda Pools. Brett's service, from the design phase through project completion, was second to none. He’s a great communicator and very responsive to his customers. Downunda was able to finish our project on time and on budget. Our pool looks fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Downunda was highly recommended to me, and I continue to highly recommend them to others. If I ever have another pool project in Houston, I’d certainly use Downunda again.

Decades of experience. Great professional and knows pools and landscaping! Design was lovely and he helped with all the details and options before we decided. Pool / jacuzzi / kitchen were all started and completed on time. Brett was always flexible with the details and minor adjustments. Upon completion that project made our backyard one of the nicest in the neighborhood. We loved the pool, jacuzzi and outdoor kitchen. I will highly recommend Brett and the Downunda Pools team for any projects!

I researched a lot of pool companies looking for the right modern pool style I had in mind. Most pool companies in Texas generally build the traditional Texas-style pools, which was not the look we were going for. Brett has a great eye, and immediately got the pool styles we were looking for. He met with us at the house to build a 3-D design of the pool, met at a tile company to pick out tiles, and at a nursery for plants and palms around the pool. Building a pool is a bit like a roller coaster with rainy days, and so many different contractors, but Brett was very communicative during the whole process. There were quite a few specific things we had done including making it a spa+pool, salt water, water falls, and tanning deck! The pool was finished by summer time, and was perfect to lay out in all season!

I have been working with Brett for over 2 1/2 years. He is great to work with, has knowledge of the products. Plus, as you can see by the photos, his projects are beautiful.

Downunda constructed a large outdoor pool for our new home. During the design phase Brett turned our ideas into a beautiful design concept that could be constructed. He advised us thoughtfully on cost trade offs and got us to our budget number. During construction Brett was personally involved throughout the project from design to final delivery and was always attentive to detail and to our needs. Brett dealt with subcontractor issues quickly and decisively and never made a sub contractor issue ours; he always took care of them himself. Brett completed and finished the job and did not check out at any time even when we had paid the majority of the money and there were the usual tricky final close out items. He also made sure we were 100% satisfied with completion before requesting his final milestone payment - something I have not seen from other builders. The project was delivered on budget and schedule and Brett was very pragmatic and fair about changes. In fact despite the fact we made several changes he never formally charged us for a change order. Overall, Downunda provide a premium service at a premium price but in my view are completely worth the investment. The service is attentive and personal. Brett is knowledgeable and constructive and knows his business. If I had one minor comment it would be their true strength lies in pool construction and the immediate surroundings. We actually used them for a fully integrated landscaping project for our whole home. The broader landscaping was done well but is not Downunda's core scope. If you want to do this for convenience and simplicity of project management then Downunda will do a good job for you, however, their true gift and skill lies in the design and delivery of extremely high quality pool environments and their immediate surroundings.

Downunda designed and built an in-ground spa and flagstone patio for us. We liked the creative design and the finished product. Brett was easy to work with during design, and his crews did a professional installation job. The project met our expectations and we were completely happy with our Downunda experience. I would recommend them to anyone considering a pool or spa project. We have enjoyed our spa and backyard environment for about 18 months. When we have had a question, Brett has been quick to respond and to help. He provides good customer support after the project. He recently helped with a motor bearing problem on the circulation pump, and I was very pleased with his ownership of the project and customer service well after the project was completed.

Brett and Downunda provided our backyard pool and landscaping in February of 2005. As a buyer of construction services in my profession, the main trait I look for in deciding to work with a contractor again is the predictability of the delivery - particularly from a schedule and budget perspective. The experience with Brett was one where there were no unpleasant surprises. We always knoew where we were in the process and the completion was right on time. In short, Downunda simply did what they said they would, which is very rare today. After the delivery, Brett was always available and even today, many years later returns calls when we have a question or need advise/guidance. Top notch contractor.

We were given a schedule for the project with the idea that it could change based on weather. It shifted slightly, but we were kept in the loop the entire time. If we had questions, they were answered in a timely manner. After the project was completed, we still maintained contact. Any issues that we had were resolved in a timely manner. Brett is enjoyable to work with, doesn't take more business than he can handle, is professional and knowledgable, and competitively priced. He uses quality materials and products, doesn't take short cuts and oversees all work. Overall, a great experience.

The reason we went with Downunda Pools and choose to work with Brett is because he really listened to us when it came to designing our outdoor space. Not only did his design incorporate what it were looking for, it far exceeded our expectations. His work crews were timely and professional, and the entire project was completely in a shorter time frame than we anticipated. Like with any construction project, there are bound to be a few hiccups. But Brett was always more than willing to find a solution that we were happy with. My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the products and the high end materials Brett used. We couldn't be happier with the outcome - a gorgeous pool and a space that feels like a resort right in our backyard.

My wife and I have had Downunda Aquatic Environments build two (2) pools for us. Needless to say we wouldn't have chosen Brett for the 2nd pool if we weren't thrilled with our first. Not only were the pools built to perfection but the back end servicing has been FANTASTIC!!! If we ever have another pool built we will only need to make one call and that will be to Brett Hatfield at Downunda. I cannot begin to tell you how much I respect Downunda Aquatic Enviornments. Next Wednesday they will be starting the second pool they have built for me. Obviously I am more than pleased with everything they provide. My first pool was completed before the estimated time of completion which is mostly unheard of with other aquatic providers. Mr. Hatfield is very professional, and is hands on throughout your entire project. I have consistently refered friends and associates to this Company. Mr. Hatfield's designs are fabulous and unlike the run of the mill designs I have seen. Your project wil be unlike any other and you will be the talk of your neighborhood. When friends saw the drawings of my first pool they actually thought I was showing them pictures from a resort I had visited. Could you ask for anything more?
