“This was my first ever time commissioning curtains in my first ever house, and I can absolutely say that Sonia Whiteman made the experience a pleasure. I knew nothing about fabrics, linings interlinings, pleats, returns... Sonia talked me through all the options. She measured not once, not twice, but three times, and held my hand through everything, including putting up poles, return hooks and hold-backs. I really can't recommend her highly enough, she is an extremely skilled and careful seamstress, and a lovely person to deal with.”

“A friend who had used Bindu’s services recommended her for our sitting room project. I needed help with choosing curtain fabric to fit our existing sofas and she listened to my requirements and saw curtains and blinds I already had in the house to gauge my style. I love colour and Bindu was great with suggesting colour schemes and fabric. Once I had decided on the fabric which she ordered, she organised new poles which I painted myself, and she also organised the fitting of the poles and took great detail in the final fitting of the curtains which were then steamed in place. I can’t recommend Bindu enough for her ideas, professionalism and general friendliness.”

“I recently moved house, to a new area I am not familiar with, and wanted some help with window furnishings. Closs & Hamblin contacted by phone initially and asked me about my project, they arranged for a lady to come out to measure, and bring a variety of fabric samples. Julie was really helpful, and spent time listening to my ideas, then measured the windows, and advised on both poles and curtain headings. She then helped me choose the right fabric to go with my sofa, and talked through how the order would be made and fitted. I was then sent a quote, which I accepted. The curtains were hand made and delivered by a fitter, who installed the poles, and hung the curtains - again a seamless process. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, they were really friendly, listened to my requirements, kept me informed all the way through my order and delivered everything on time.”

“Sacha made 2 Roman blinds for my bedroom. She came to visit me with a very large choice of fabrics and to measure for each blind. Ordering was easy and Sacha kept me informed of when the blinds would be ready. The finished products are beautiful, very well made and fit perfectly. I am extremely happy with the service I received and the finished product. I certainly won't hesitate in asking her to make more blinds in the future.”

“I was suggested this company by my interior designer, whom speaks very highly of them - i was naturally in uncharted territory when it came to ordering so many different curtains and blinds for each room of my house, as i didn't really have any idea about fabrics and fitting systems etc. Thankfully Marcia and Sophie were on hand to help me, the after sales has been brilliant and most importantly my house looks fantastic! The service and support i received from the team was superb, i couldn't recommend them enough.”

“I recently asked Lisa at Pretty Swish if she could make me some blinds or curtains for my downstairs hall, stairs and study. I have no idea of interior style and my husband had disliked every fabric I had looked at before talking to Lisa! Plus, We have a small barn conversion that has wonky windows, ceilings and floors and is quite dark inside. Not only did she create us the most fabulous blinds and box cushion that are admired by everyone who comes to the house but she helped us choose wonderful fabrics that are complementary to the house and its style and much loved by both my husband and me!! She is a consummate professional when it comes to soft furnishing and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She has an innate sense of interiors style combined with great technical knowhow and phenomenal attention to detail. She is very very easy to work with - she will listen to your ideas and provide more for you to see what is possible, while understanding what will work for your house/shed/office space etc; she is very open and honest and precise and if she doesn't believe something will work the chances are it won't!; she helps you keep within your budget or deadline and can suggest modifications if necessary; she is also very good at keeping in contact with you so you know how the project is going; plus, on top of that, she is the most friendly and kind person you could wish to meet, which makes what could be a stressful process an extremely pleasurable one - Thank you Lisa!!”
