I think you may be right, Kylie. If you consider most kitchen counters are three feet high, and standard interior doors are about 6 and a half feet tall, those walls could well be 8 feet.

I think they are 8ft as well. Notice how the large cabinet piece goes all the way up to the ceiling -- this is a great look for 8ft ceilings. I just moved from a house with 8ft ceilings to 9ft ceilings on the main level, and while the new house is more spacious and airy, it is definitely not as cozy or homey as our old house, so I would agree with you.

It entirely depends on how the house is fitted out.
There are builder-basic houses/apartments out there with 8' ceilings that are bland, boring and uncomfortable...
...then there are houses with 10' ceilings that have builtins, mouldings, niches, and interesting architectural details which make them incredibly cozy and comfortable.
