When our client wanted the design of their master bath to honor their Japanese heritage and emulate a Japanese bathing experience, they turned to us. They had very specific needs and ideas they needed help with — including blending Japanese design elements with their traditional Northwest-style home. The shining jewel of the project? Twenty-eight book-matched slabs of Calcutta Gold were used in the remodeling of a private residence, including the addition of a master bath. The bath was designed to include areas for the toilet and bidet, shower, Japanese soaking tub and bath and vanity room. The stone floors were mud set over an in-floor radiant heating system. The angles in the design of this project challenged the two-man crew, who did the installation in 10 weeks. In the shower and tub deck, almost every piece of stone on the walls had to be measured, fabricated, and installed before the next piece could be measured. Numerous master stone craftsmen brought an incredible vision to life.

This master bathroom remodel was part of an addition/whole house remodel. The new bathroom included a deep Japanese style soaking tub, a new shower with bench and body sprays, a laundry area, a new double vanity, cabinets and top. The cabinetry is maple in Espresso stain by Bridgewood.

This ordinary dated master bath was converted into a beautiful home spa. Included was a walk in infrared sauna, Japanese soaking tub, a huge walk in shower, heated floors and a beautiful custom vanity.

Positioning the shower controls on the 1/2 wall as one walks into the shower, prevents the user from getting wet when they manage the shower controls. The 1/2 wall provided space to add a niche for storing messy toiletries. The bench shown on the right, becomes part of the steps leading to the soaking tub

Master bath remodeled for serenity In Palo Alto, a goal of grey water landscaping triggered a bathroom remodel. And with that, a vision of a serene bathing experience, with views out to the landscaping created a modern white bathroom, with a Japanese soaking tub and curbless shower. Warm wood accents the room with moisture resistant Accoya wood tub deck and shower bench. Custom made vanities are topped with glass countertop and integral sink.

After we reconfigure the master bath walls, we move the shower and change its walls to glass to allow natural light to flow throughout the space.
