leaves falling on water oak

The leaves on my mature water oak trees(70+yrs) have been falling since the leaves matured. My area has had an abundance of rain this year, 11 inches above normal. All the trees in my area are doing the same. Could this be a sign that a harsh winter may be coming?

Probably more of a sign of something wrong with summer weather. I think of trees as being more reactive. A strange mix of wet then hot and dry following a DRY and HOT year has many trees in my area suffering.

just as likely .. that is was a sign of a harsh winter.. LAST WINTER ....

perhaps it is.. in a poor richards sort of way ...

its something interesting to contemplate .... while drinking adult beverages ...

but i wouldnt bet the farm on it... lol
