I am trying to ID this common wildflower. Does anyone know what is is?

That's Chrysanthemum coronarium, CROWN DAISY. It's not a native; it's a native to the Mediterranean Basin and it's become naturalized here (= weed). The good news is that it's edible (called GARLAND DAISY and CHRSYANTHEMUM GREENS in Japan).

baci, It looks like Chrysanthemum coronarium (Crown Daisy). As far as I know it is not a California native plant, but originates from the Mediterranean area. It seeds itself and spreads to many areas as an annual spring wildflower.

Thanks again gardenguru. I have seen fields of this stuff & it definitely is invasive. I have looked it up & the leaves are supposed to be good in salads, & the petals are edible.
