Is this seed-grown? Purchased? Why did you remove existing branches?

Was told on forum to remove other branches to make tree trunk stronger. The leaves are growing nicely. Just wanted to know the process and how long will it be before it begins to look like a tree? I brought it from nursery tiny branches when I received. It.

More leaves -> more food that will be transferred to the roots (obviously) through the trunk -> more roots -> more nutrients to be transferred to the leaves (obviously) through the trunk -> repeat. So the trunk thickens.

More wind -> tree adapts by thickening the trunk and branches.

At the size of your tree, cutting the branches will only force new buds to emerge so new branches will form, resetting the growth to a previous stage.

I suggest to slowly help a branch to become vertically (don-t bend-it at once with a big angle) so that will eventually form the real trunk, and to let-it grow naturally until 30-60cm height (unless you want some sort of bush)

New to this, please be more detailed. This branch was the strongest of the branches that were cut. Are you saying to slowly begin to help the branch to grow vertically by using a stick to help it grow upright?

First, do you know what variety it is? Tangerine is not a variety, only a misnomer for various mandarin species.

Second, do you know what rootstock it is planted on?

Third, is this the best tree they had? John's first rule of trees is you should start with the biggest and best tree you can find/afford.
