NASA experiment this morning (8/17)

For those of you NOT awake at or before 7AM NASA send up something (?) experimental having to do with re-entry. In Tampa you could see a beautiful "con" trail as the sun was coming up behind it. This picture was take from my car...while driving! It doesn't capture the full "coolness" of the contrail but it is a beautiful shot none the less (IMHO). See the moon, a sliver, at the top.

It was the last Delta rocket going up with a GPS satellite. I was out earlier that morning walking the dogs and admiring the moon and Venus so close together. It was a beautiful morning scene but I missed the launch!

I thought I was going crazy!
I was taking my puppy out when I saw what looked like a space shuttle launch. It went up then over to the south and then back down. It was so odd.
My husband went to the nasa sight and could not find anything about any launch.
My husband will be glad to hear the mystry is solved.
