I've been growing this little green for 3 years now and it's a great addition to salads in the winter. I've read that you can plant it in the spring but I plant it last part of July, early August. It will continue to grow new leaves all winter long then bolts in late spring. You'll never need to buy seed twice because of it's prolific seed pods.

It has some very beneficial properties to which is a bonus.
