help! leaves yellowing, then drying up and falling off

This is a yellow pear tomato - it started with just one of the vines turning yellow, though I'm not sure why. Any ideas? I'm in zone 9a (norcal). I've had it since April it started showing this problem last week. More recently the other vines have started showing symptoms as well.

I'd been weakly fertilizing it twice a week with all purpose miracle gro. Last week I switched to 18-18-21 since someone suggested it wasn't getting enough P, but that hasn't seemed to have helped.

The leaves also seem to yellow from the stem out to the margins. I water when the soil is dry 3in down, which is nearly everyday now. It's in a 16in plastic container and gets full sun.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Yeah, we have some black cherry tomatoes doing the same thing. Grew great, then one stem or branch would start dying. Looks just like your photo. Using earthbox

Mine are doing the same thing - looks just like the photos. It is happening from the bottom up. They get full sun, there has been a lot of rain, they started showing this about 10 days ago.

Hard to tell for sure, but I know down here in San Diego Powdery Mildew has been tough this year.

Limit watering to mornings, once a week. Ensure good air flow around the plant. Keep in full sun.

If it is PM, you can try Neem oil or Serenade as good organic controls.

Iam having the same problems. Planatus mentioned that yellow pear are susceptible to many problems. Early blight was suggested for my problems.

I have done some research and I have talked with the people at the New York Cooperative Extension and found that it is Early Blight that has taken my tomatoes. I have sprayed with a fungicide but the rain keeps coming and I think the plants are not going to make it. Very sad as they are my favorite and usually my best crop.
