What are these dots on sedum iceberg leaves?

Dear all,

Any ideas about what these dots on the leaves of my sedum iceberg plant might be? They are raised and feel like they are attached to the leaf. Like little pimples. They don't wipe off with a cotton tip but scratch off with the blunt end of a toothpick leaving raw leaf underneath. I have had aphid problems before in a different pot & plant.

Are these some type of bug or more of an abnormality in the leaves themselves? (Eg light /nutrients)
They seem to have come up to become very noticeable in a week or two. The plant has also been growing quite a bit in the past two months.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia so we're in summer at the moment.
They are in a pot on the balcony.

It's hard to appreciate what you have with the phone picture you've taken. If there is some way to take a better closeup of one affected area, that might be more helpful.

Are these photos any better? Tried a few. The spots have also become more prominent.

Looks like edema blisters, which would also fit your verbal description.

Oh, thanks!
That's new to me (most things are as I'm new to keeping plants).

There also seems to have been a lower water requirement in around the same timeframe, and the weather has been fluctuating wildly between max of 20 and 38 with sun and rain (changes in humidty)

i would have suggested that individual cells had burst due to some weather insult .. either a sunburn type event.... or a cold snap ...

is that .. SORTA.. the cause of edema ... which in human medicine.. is a swelling???

it is also curious .... the the leaf ends are not affected ... whereas i would have expected the opposite ... you cant sunburn a leaf.. shaded by the one above ... as one would expect cold to be a little trapped inside the plant ...

i would ask myself .... is there some pattern to it all???? .. if we saw a pic of the whole plant.. would se still be able to see the affected areas????

i would ask for two more observations.. is there anything on the undersides of the leaves above ... and.. what does the new growth look like ...

the new growth will define .. for me anyway ... whether the EVENT.. has passed .. as if it is clean ... the problem.. whatever it may have been.. has passed ... no need.. beyond knowledge for its own sake ..... to fix it ...

and if the new growth is clean.. and the rest bugs you ... root off some clean pieces.. and get rid of the ugly part ....

in the mean time.. i hope you have isolated the plant....
