Pendant light spacing

I will have an 88" long island and want to use slightly larger scale pendants overhead, somewhere between 10-15". What is advisable as far as spacing between the fixtures and how far should the pendants hang inside the two ends so someone doesn't bump their head?

We generally recommend you space pendants about 2 feet apart over the island and have suggested heights of hanging to ensure no one bumps their head. Check out our guide to light sizing--and let me know if you need more help!

Is that 2 feet between pendants -- or 2 feet from center to center of pendants?
