Looks like the space if fairly small, so I might just go with a very simple wool/hemp rug to keep it simple and spacious and also comp your warm and casual color choices.

I am going to be honest; sorry, but I don't like your throw pillows. The lumbar is too big for the chair. The style of pillow is too "Pottery Barn" for the fabric and the wrong orange. I like your idea of orange, just not that one. Too many pillows on the sofa and I don't like the prints with the chair....wrong scale.

I do like your sofa and chair...sorry, not trying to be difficult, but I think you could do better.

Kyanah, that looks so much more inviting! We're all learning from each other here! I think you could do a colorful rug. It's hard to know what it would look like with everything else you might have in the room, or the size of the room. More pictures are always helpful.

I thought by providing some pictures, it may help with envisioning a solid rug, which I think would be calmer, given your patterned chair especially and will also be easier to compliment. Add a large piece of art above the couch and it will be the focal point instead of a busy rug, but it really depends on how you want your space to feel.
