Neolith and ThinSlab are beautiful but I hear from stone yards that they scratch easily. Is this true?

No that's complete HOGWASH and they are obviously trying to sell you on their stone.

I have samples of Neolith here and have tried everything on them including cutting with knives. Nothing. They are indestructible.

Actually I'm wrong. It ruined my knife blade.

I have dekton in my kitchen - there is absolutely no way I could scratch or strain it! Quartz samples I could ding if I took the tip of a knife to them - this just slides off the dekton no harm done! I think one person on here did have trouble with scratching on their neolith - I believe the polished surfaces rather than matte are a little easier to scratch (I assume no more so than other surfaces) but the other kinds should be pretty indestructable. Hmm, we have honed ("silk") Neolith Calacatta, and the installer managed to muck up the surface when trying to remove glue or something that they got all over it. There were these faint little evenly-spaced shiny marks all over (think ties in a model railroad track) that I couldn't get off, so they came back to address that. I wasn't home, but I'm told they used acetone and an orange scrubby, and, while it looks fine in most places, there are a few spots where they seem to have rubbed the surface hard enough to change the sheen. It's completely invisible most of the time, but when the light from the window hits right, the spots look darker than the rest of the surface. They've offered to replace the slab, but I'm not sure yet if it bugs me enough to risk damage to backsplash, cabinets, and adjoining slabs to pull it out.

Apart from that, I love the material--it looks great and EVERYTHING (apart from that glue) comes off: coffee that's been sitting under a mug, wine, olive oil, rust from a cast iron pan, etc.
