Is Miele dishwasher quick wash cycle good enough for general loads?

We currently have an 8 yr old bosch dishwasher that may be on its last leg (pump is making concerning noises on startup). I am looking at replacing it with another bosch or a miele. Reportedy the miele can hold more/loads more easily. However, I’ve seen mixed reviews on how well the quick cleaning cycle works for general loads (defined as mostly rinsed plates, bowls, flatware, cups, glasses, plastic wear). The short cleaning cycle that works well on Bosch is a huge plus! I am soliciting more feedback on Mieles‘s short cleaning cycle. Could it be used as our default wash cycle for general loads?

Additionally, Miele owners, does the Miele release steam during dish drying? Our old kitchen aid did and it damaged the cabinets. Our Bosch does not.

Any other tips on models or things to think about with regards to Miele dishwashers? Normally, I would not buy a dishwasher without seeing it in person but we are social distancing and staying out of stores so that’s not an option. Any and all input is appreciated!

I have a miele dishwasher it is the 6000 series machine 3 years old. I bought just as it has the quick powerwash cycle, 65 celcius in just 59 min or there abouts. I never opens before it has mixed the the hot machine with cooler roomair so when the machine opens there are no steamplume.

This is almost the only cycle I use, and I never rinse before loading.

I have the G6987 model dishwasher with the Quick Intense Wash and it will clean very well. It will probably not clean burned-on food, but it does just fine with everyday soil. Mine takes about 1:12 minutes because my water is not always hot. I don't rinse anything before placing it inside the dishwasher.

The steam. My door opens near the end of the drying period and the fan continues to run blowing air out of the cabinet. The air is warm and moist, but no steam comes out. My machine came with a stainless steel steam guard that gets placed under the counter to help protect it, but since my counter made from a stone, I didn't need it.

I am not sure if every model opens the door, so you will have to check the specifications of the machine you are considering.

I have 2 Miele D/Ws and I use the Quick Intense Wash all the time. It takes about 50 minutes. It's the only cycle I run, except for the occasional use of the Pots & Pans cycle. I never rinse my dishes (only scrape them). The Miele tabs are meant to work with the Quick Intense cycle and I use half a tab. This has worked well for the last 1.5 years, running both dishwashers full every day. Regarding steam, my experience is the same as Jerrod.I have the automatic door opening as well, which is a nice feature.

I wouldn't pay extra for more types of cycles since the Quick Intense satisfies my needs. I think it's important to be able to delay the start but that may be a standard feature. Look for the models that have the orange handles/tabs. They give you the most flexibility to adjust the configurations of the racks. I did not go for the model with the light inside and I don't miss it.
