My granddaughter's quilt

I started this quilt back in September when my first grandchild was still a bun in the oven. Ran into problems trying to applique. One new machine (yay!), mask making, and another quilt for a niece later, I've finally finished it. My son helped by being snarky that it wasn't done. Don't know why, the baby's only 9 months old!

I'm a pin baster. One of my favorite stages of working on a project is taking the pins out as I quilt. It's a silly thing but it makes me smile as I work. I also love when after the quilting is done, the excess is all trimmed away prior to binding.
