Keep your black trim, it looks nice. Have the dormers themselves painted a lighter color. The color the dormer trim is now, unpainted, would be nice, or even a much lighter gray.

What is happening in the gables? If those are brick I would keep the dormer black.

I agree with HALLETT & Co. Making the dormer subtle would be a better choice. Otherwise I think they will be too prominent. No shutters, right?

You have such an opportunity for interesting landscape. Keep the long windows free of plants obscuring them. Add tall bushes to frame parts of the home, plus ornamental trees and perennials along with annuals for seasons long color. Plant native hardwood trees out in the lawn.

paint them black. the same as your other trim. I think it would look very nice.

once you get the landscaping and other design elements (like your wood door stained) the dormers will fade into the background.

(and it's only paint. if you don't like if AFTER everything else is completed, just repaint them another color)
