livingroom
something like this would look interesting behind the wood chairs and each component could actually open for storage; the vertical one could have something tall in it or have shelves. The others are probably just sopen boxes with doors. And we could give the room some colour with this that complemented the wall with the fireplace.
Monochromatic trim and wall treatments unify small spaces and can be useful where fussy detailing either just isn’t warranted (as in a camp) or is too costly. I really appreciate the set of rules the architects put in place here. By rendering the windows, walls and ceiling in wood, they’ve removed the sense that any one thing in the architecture is more important than another. My eye is drawn toward the contrasting elements instead, the view and the objects within.
if we did the couch as this photo shows - in orange - we could pick the orange from my India fabric which will be on the back of the diningroom chairs and then everything would co-ordinate. Would take us back to our original wall color - cream but I kind of like this photo - not the chairs - but the sofa and the drapes.
I like the cabinet plus built in shelves here - and the wall treatment of the fireplace wall gives some focus.
I actually like this livingroom - the furniture is lively and I like the chairs but I bet Tammy won't.
I've always seen the livingroom with 2 chairs but this looks like it would work in our livingroom.
I like how a simple bookcase can look quite interesting by changing the vertical and horizontal spacing. We could do this by cutomizing a Billy
Since the lroom is mostly for guests now maybe we should consider 4 chairs instead of the sofa and 2 chairs
instead of a desk :)
We could put a mantel in front of the murphy; it would have to be off the floor but the 'soldiers' that fit below could be removed when the bread is brought down or be part of the leg support that we 'kick' out when we bring the bed down. And I like the shelving beside it.
I love the branches with the gold platter behind them - peaceful - zen - would love if there was somewhere in the new house where this would work
an example of white post and beams in a renovated livingroom/main floor
I like the blue - maybe for the kitchen
i LIKE THE SPACED FLOATING SHELVES
nice chair design for livingroom; very similar to the IKEA chair we are thinking about for computer work.
another idea for opposite sides of the Murphy bed - some closed, some open
another idea for opposite sides of the murphy bed
an example of a beam with crown molding
In this case they painted out the posts but left the beam natural. An option.
This is what I think our beam and posts will look like only in glulam
interesting layout
imagine our livingroom with just the murphy bed (in place of the fireplace) as a focal point and this kind of set up
I like the blue chairs and carpet
if we decide to have some open display/storage shelves this is a beautiful example of one
this is an example of a picture that makes you look farther into it
interesting how they put seating on one side of the door (chairs, maybe facing the tv) and conversation area on the other side. ??? maybe we've been thinking too much in the box.
I bet we could make this using countertops from IKEA as the base wood or something else of course but it doesn't look really difficult - one top - two sides and two circles to cut
we could do this with the ikea bins on the short wall under the fish painting. Would provide great storage and a place to display something. DID IT AND IT WORKED REALLY WELL; MOVING THEM NOW TO THE BEDROOM BECAUSE THE WALL IS GOING AWAY.!!!
just an idea of what a deeply coloured ceiling looks like in a room
don't know the name of this colour but I like it.
THe pillow has the kind of stripe I want for recovering the sofa
this is a metal strip and the items are held on by magnets - could do the entire backsplash this way
while this looks a little firm - the back folds up to become neck height for lounging and otherwise is a low back for sitting.
This is that inspirational craft cabinet - I see it with baskets for yarn, not so much fabric but I still see a sewing machine - for the quilting projects I'm thinking of, the fabric would probably be mostly pieces that could go in a basket.
the bottom drawer pulls out to become a stool, but the black top can slide back still giving you drawer storage. Brilliant.
Stacked Wood Model : 1691 for under the fireplace would only be $150
