Your Decor: Colored Leather, the Forgotten Element
Why Not Add Color to the Joys of Your Leather Furniture?
Most of my clients are on budget these days, and request that we use the furniture they have instead of buying new. While visiting their homes, I've come across some interesting pieces to work with, including beautiful leather furniture in various colors. If I base my assumption on what I see in the latest home decor photography, colored leather for some reason or another is not on-trend — but why? This ideabook fills the void left by popular shelter magazines in the exclusion of colored leather. For those dedicated to leather in neutral colors, you may be surprised by these vibrant alternatives.
Streamlined and sleek, this leather upholstered daybed fits perfectly into the room's furniture plan. Not only does its presence add to the jazzy vibe in the space, it also functions as guest seating without obstructing the view of the musician on the piano.
An eclectic mix of furniture styles and materials make way for a sea-blue leather chair's contemporary debut. The lighter shades of blue create a monochromatic scheme that allows the eyes to relax across the room and float outside the picture window.
A harmonious blend of colors make cheerful music in this open entertaining space. The dark green leather section grounds the space and complements the accent rug as well as the blue-tinged ceilings.
Leather in gold tones puts a contemporary spin on a traditional sofa and armchair. It also reinforces the color palette often found in Old World and Mediterranean decor.
A red leather banquette makes for a bold style statement and supports the slight Asian influence introduced by this oversized medallion.
Wasabi, chartreuse, green — call it what you want, but it's sure to garner compliments. This Urban Edge Kitchen features colors and materials found in nature, giving this space a fresh, modern and organic feel. The sheen on the green leather chairs adds just the amount of shine needed to polish this space.
Madeline Chaise
At first sight, this tufted peacock blue leather chaise disguises itself as a handsome office chair. With a closer look, notice that it embodies both masculine and feminine qualities. A piece like this, satisfying to both sexes, is equally appropriate in a home office as it would in the sitting area of a master bedroom.
