I am putting in a pool in a new construction home and my pool area will need retaining walls as there is an elevation change going down to a pond behind the house. If I have the pool put in and retaining walls around the dirt pad area, do I need a concrete slab poured or can the turf be laid directly on the pad? In other words I’d like to use it as decking but am not sure if I’ll need concrete under for support.
