We collaborated with T.H.E. Remodel Group to define a space plan that opened up the existing hall bathroom and entered the neighboring bedroom. This space allowed us to double the size of the shower and added needed closet storage, two vanity sinks, custom cabinetry with storage and radiant heating. The client was fond of contemporary yet classic design, and we settled on classic Carrera marble for the countertops, with chrome accents. To give the bathroom a bit of contemporary punch we selected an unexpected Sombera yellow for the walls. To coordinate with the vanity, we chose for the master shower a gorgeous easy-care porcelain tile reminiscent of Carrera marble. This new generation tile is almost impossible to detect porcelain versus natural stone, but allows the homeowners to enjoy zero maintenance and easy clean up. Custom cabinets with a leathered granite tops make this master bathroom feel calm and relaxing. The cantera brick ceiling gives the bath room a great architectural detail. The steam shower with a slab floor was a great addition for this spa like bathroom.. Eclipse Photography

Strong lines and a bold, thick, accent strip contrast the elegance of the sliding 'frame-less' glass door in this contemporary styled bath remodel, and the brown mosaic adds a hint of Mediterranean warmth to the design. The breadth of the glass door lends a further impression of expanse to the space and shows off the full surround tiled shower. This installation called for a custom sized shower base and seat, for which we generally use a polystyrene composite do to its infallible mold and moisture resistance. The entire base is sealed then with a silicone paint adhering mold resistant cloth tape into edges and corners. Tec super flex mortar, grout and caulk were used to ensure maximum expansion capability. The flooring (not pictured here) was installed with matching 12"x12" tile, making a total of four different tile sizes, not including the bullnose border. -JCR Development LLC

I did not do any major changes to the Master Bath. I brought in the contemporary grab bars for the shower and toilet, painted the cabinetry in a two tone motif, framed the over sized mirror and replaced the white counter top with this wonderful red quartz. New sinks and hardware finished the reworking of the vanity. We updated the shower tile by replacing the floor and decorative band and doing a frame-less glass door. Pictured prior to door installation- the custom oversized chamfered bench measures 18"x22". The bench, like the base, was installed using a silicon 'rubberized' paint to seal mold resistant fabric tape into all corners and joints, ensuring lasting mold and moisture protection.
