Caroline Couzens Design Ltd
It is common to come to homes that have been 'developed' without any thought given to the quality of living space. Much detail and interest has been stripped from the property and important elements such as lighting and period detail completely overlooked.
This project fits into this category with my brief to go in and resolve issues of blandness and poor functionality often at a point where there's little left of any budget.
Here we re-discover decorative objects and furniture by repositioning and adding a few fresh accessories.

Beechwood sits on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Oxfordshire. Employing high-quality materials, simple detailing and robust forms, the design produced a contemporary and sustainable home appropriate to its context.
The materials used in the project push conventional design boundaries but sit together harmoniously in the woodland setting. Blue/black engineering brickwork combine with pre-weathered Corten steel cladding, enabling the house to bleed into the landscape.
Implementing energy saving solutions was integral to the success of this project and was a key part of the client brief. The design followed best practice in nine categories of sustainable design: energy and CO2 emissions, water, materials, surface water run-off, waste, pollution, health and wellbeing, management and ecology. Beechwood achieved a Level 4 certificate under The Code for Sustainable Homes.

Make great coffee right at home...
Some say that every good date begins in a coffee shop. A shared common love. An automatic icebreaker. Something to talk about, or to simply to put you both at ease. A reason to join together.
In 1999, Miele brought this atmosphere into homes, introducing the world’s first built-in Whole Bean Coffee System. Then in 2004, Miele reclaimed its position as category leader and introduced the world’s first built-in capsule coffee system. Miele's coffee systems brew delicious espresso, cappuccino, latté; or regular coffee quickly and easily. Using whole coffee beans, the system grinds to your personal taste to deliver a truly tailored, flavorful beverage.

Kitchen Living by Duenas
A luxury kitchen might also be characterized by a style other than the contemporary one, a style that’s less common, retro and thus special and sophisticated in a lot of ways. A kitchen with rustic cabinets could be included in this category, for example.

Flovery by Xena Ng (Faux Floral Arrangements)
A lot of my clients said they didn’t favor artificial flowers previously. This is very common due to perception. That’s not the case any more though. I have started to explain to my clients that artificial flowers don’t have to look cheap. Sometime in 2006, the first “real touch” flowers came out to the market and this category completely changes the industry perspective.

ADORING FLORAL MIRROR HAND-KNOTTED RUG IN RED 2'7" X 10'
Borrowing symbols and themes from many rug styles, this rug does not fall into a specific category; rather, it works a perfect example of the pastiche common in the rug industry. Its medallion is a floral interpretation of the evil eye and employes the four floral vines common to the Persian herati. Shah Abbas palmettes originated in Persian designs as well, and oversized palmettes, like the ones seen here, have been used in designs across regions and dynasties. Its particular heritage makes this piece unique.

Cumulus Studio
The project was the result of a highly collaborative design process between the client and architect. This collaboration led to a design outcome which prioritised light, expanding volumes and increasing connectivity both within the home and out to the garden.
Within the complex original plan, rational solutions were found to make sense of late twentieth century extensions and underutilised spaces. Compartmentalised spaces have been reprogrammed to allow for generous open plan living. A series of internal voids were used to promote social connection across and between floors, while introducing new light into the depths of the home.
