Master Bedroom retreat by San Diego Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson shows Rebeccas creative use of space when she covered an outdated drywall and tile fireplace with rich wood paneling and creamy marble. Personal touches were taken into consideration when Rebecca use a wasteful drywall entry to the Master Bathroom by recessing a small library for books the homeowners might want to read while enjoying the sitting area in front of the fire. Wood floors transition into Seagrass limestone floors as they move into the Master Bath. Robeson Design creates a beautiful Master Bedroom retreat at the foot of the bed by covering the wall surrounding the fireplace with walnut paneling. two chairs and an ottoman create the perfect spot for end of the day conversations as the fireplace sparkles and crackles. By playing up the contrast between light and dark, Rebecca used dark hardwood floors, stained four poster bed with nightstands, a custom built-in chest of drawers and wood trimmed upholstered chairs. She then added creamy bedding and soft flowing window treatments with a medallion motif on the valences. The pale cream walls hold their own as the cream stripped area rug anchors the space. Rebecca used a touch of periwinkle in the throw pillows and oversized art piece in the built-in. Custom designed iron pieces flank the windows on either side of the bed as light amber glass table lamps reflect the natural light streaming in the windows.

A great way to brighten up a bedroom is with painted nightstands. In this case, we wanted to maintain a calming environment with neutral wall colors and bedding. To add a bit of cheer to the space, we upholstered two lounge chairs and painted both nightstands similar shaded of aqua. Martha O'Hara Interiors, Interior Design | L. Small Bedroom decorating ideas! Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson began this Bedroom remodel with Benjamin Moore's 2017 color of the year… “Shadow” 2117-30
Rebecca wanted a bold statement color for this small Bedroom. Something that would say WOW. Her next step was to find a bold statement piece of art to create the color palette for the rest of the room. From the art piece came bedding choices, a fabulous over-died antique area rug (Aja Rugs) randomly collected throw pillows and furniture pieces that would provide a comfortable Bedroom but not fill the space unnecessarily. Rebecca had white linen, custom window treatments made and chose white bedding to ground the space, keeping it light and airy. Playing up the 13' concrete ceilings, Rebecca used modern light fixtures with white shades to pop off the purple wall creating an exciting first... and lasting, impression!

Corner of bedroom is the home office. A discarded jeweler's table is refashioned into a computer desk. Window treatment is a valance of melamine plates. Under window is an air conditioner cover that prevents drafts in the winter and provides additional surface space. Featured in 'My Houzz'. photo: Rikki Synder

This space was very large for a 2nd floor bedroom and had an attached full bath. It was wonderful to see all my ideas pulled together through the use of art, paint, texture, fabrics, to the rug and furniture. Each piece was integral in completing the overall look and feel of the space.
