Keeping the integrity of the existing style is important to us — and this Rio Del Mar cabin remodel is a perfect example of that. For this special bathroom update, we preserved the essence of the original lathe and plaster walls by using a nickel gap wall treatment. The decorative floor tile and a pebbled shower call to mind the history of the house and its beach location. The marble counter, and custom towel ladder, add a natural, modern finish to the room that match the homeowner's unique designer flair.

Successful Master Bathroom Shower Surround Completed! The challenge was to incorporate the master bath shower with the existing decor in this beautiful rustic mountain home. Existing exterior rock and a river rock fireplace and tub surround were the starting point for the choice of materials. The existing rock colors were grays with hints of blue undertones. Pebble mosaics with the same color range were the perfect answer. The large format gray porcelain tiles look like natural stone with their realistic white veining. The results were stunning and create a seamless feeling withing the existing decor. This shower provides a brand new, updated, spacious space for the new home owners. By reconfiguring the bathroom we were able to enlarge the shower to nearly twice the size it was originally. Columns and arches were built over the tub and shower that visually unify the bathing areas from the rest of the bathroom without closing them off and interrupting the flow of the room. A recessed vault area with an arch mimicking the large arch over the bathtub was built next to the tub. Floating glass shelves were installed in the vault which allowed for storage of small bath essentials so they would not clutter the tub area.
