David Hansen Design Inc.

David was referred by a friend when we were doing some remodeling and painting in an older home we recently purchased. Our entire experience with David was excellent. He helped us choose colors that we not only liked but that enhanced the good features of our house and helped moderate the less desirable ones. With a great color selection for our kitchen cabinets, David made a somewhat unattractive grey granite island that had previously dominated our kitchen disappear into a soft grey--green tone that changed the look of the entire space. In addition to that, he was extremely personable, helped us make choices by providing information but never chose for us, and, best of all, was fun to work with. We highly recommend his services.

We did a complete redo of the kitchen (moving a window, blocking another, replacing slider with French doors, removing a chimney - along with new flooring, cabinets, flooring, lighting, etc.) We're incredibly happy with the outcome - including managing some very challenging design issues due to the room shape and spacing. Throughout the design and construction, we ran into issues that needed to be dealt with and he did a great job helping us think through everything. Where we had initial differences of ideas, David listened and adjusted his recommendations to our vision while bringing his professional perspective to the project. We have worked with David twice so far - first for our kitchen remodel, then for our bathroom remodel. Things I really like about David: 1. He has a great eye for design - he walked us through our kitchen choices - cabinets, stone, etc. and went over all the finishes and options. He helped us decide on a really efficient layout for the new kitchen that used the space very efficiently. And our cabinets & stone look amazing. The extras we included in the cabinets (pull outs, extra depth) have made the kitchen so usable. We love it. 2. Professionalism - David really listens to his clients and presents appropriate solutions. And he also helped set expectations based on our budget. He provided realistic timelines and the work was done when he said it would be. David was fantastic to work with - extremely nice, friendly and creative. We will absolutely work with him again when we have another project.

I enjoyed working with David, he has an excellent design aesthetic and is so good at selecting colors, fabrics and furnishings - pluls he came up with ideas that kept us within our budget, but still transformed our living room into a whole new, relaxing and wonderful space! We are getting ready to hire him again to consult on some other rooms, I'm looking forward to the collaborative process and seeing what we come up with.
