“We hired Barry because we saw the beautiful work he has done for so many of our neighbors. I am an interior designer and have worked with many architects so this was a leap for me. Barry has been a DELIGHT to work with. He is smart, professional, timely in his response, flexible, and works well with the other professionals on our project. I have found that architects are often either technical architects or design architects. Barry is a creative design architect first, but all his technical skills are excellent as well. He has done extensive drawings, worked seamlessly with all engineers and contractors, gotten our permits, and made us feel that we have a true advocate throughout the process. I would highly recommend him. You will be so happy you did!”

If you want a strong creative visionary with unmatched executional ability, Tiffany is the right architect. Very strong modern sensibility and has the capacity to lead projects across the architectural spectrum — she can do massive renovations and ground up work, to lighting and interior design, to landscape design. “I just completed a complete remodel of my San Francisco Edwardian flat and build out my basement. Joanne and her staff did a fantastic job. It started out as a kitchen bath remodel, but once the design process started expanded to include every room as we discussed how different spaces would be used and what I didn't like about the current space after living with it for 20yrs. Might as well do it right! Joanne's attention to detail, listening, and high ethical standards are unmatched. She would listen in the meetings and ask questions then come back with some ideas and sketches to get my reaction. She knew what I wanted without me even knowing it. She was also sensitive to the project budget which was important. I was able to complete the project within my budget. She was also key to working with the general contractor. She brought with her experience in projects of my scope / scale and working with different contractors and even her own remodel. This helped immensely. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Koch Architects again.”

“The staff at Ohashi Design Studio helped me design my kitchen/living space. I wanted to open up our galley kitchen to be able to see our incredible view from the kitchen. They came up with a design I never imagined could work so well. Rather than just remove a wall, they moved the kitchen, changed it to a more functional shape and not only opened up the view, but made the living space feel like we were outside. I have been especially impressed with their level of service. They listened to my dreams and goals and turned it into a reality beyond what I'd hoped for. They were available anytime I needed guidance during construction and made sure the project was built down to the finest details. They helped me find a contractor and oversaw the bidding process. They helped pick out all the materials and finishes, even the paint color. I can't say enough about their level of expertise and professionalism. I worked with Dave and Alan.”

“This team was contracted to do the architectural work on an addition to my home. I sketched out the overall design. Nong listened and offered his suggestions. At the conclusion, his overall design and improvements when far beyond what I had envisioned. He walk through all the paperwork and time needed to get all the permits which allowed me time to take care of the family and talk about the new look. The project is still under construction, but I know my family and I will be happy with what we both (myself and Nong) envisioned.”

“David Wilson and WA Design have been the architects on two homes for our family, one in the Oakland Hills and one in Napa, California, on a rock-filled challenging site. They have been wonderful and responsive to work with, embracing our ideas in the spirit of collaboration. Designing and building a home is a very personal experience, and to be successful the firm you hire should be a pleasure to work with on many levels. This firm definitely is. David became a good friend during and after our process on the first home, and that made the second project even easier. Their style is warm contenporary, so easy to live in. I have contacted him about questions after the completion of both projects and he has been more than helpful, continuing to get information for me and share ideas. Both houses have hosted several events (best kitchens, touring unique houses, etc) and I continue to receive compliments: "I love your house, it's the best house architecture I've seen"; "I'm impressed by the views, light, organic flow and peacefulness of this homes", and many, many more positive comments. I strongly recommend this firm if you want to create a one of a kind home ! PS Hire them and I'll be jealous, I want to build a house with them again.”
