“We purchased a property on the Big Island of Hawaii and wanted an architect local to that area to design our home and assist in its construction as we were not as familiar with the issues that can arise in building in that area since we live in Washington State. We have received excellent service from the firm even before we had the company on contract. We are still in the later design phases, but already have greatly benefited in the design of our home to accommodate the specific climate and other environmental issues associated with building in Hawaii. The firm has the right contacts for all the other necessary engineering and construction services that will be needed in the design, permitting and construction of our home. We find Roger Brasel (principal of the firm) to be very easy to work with. So, this review is relative to the design of our home and does not cover the construction phase.”

“I am a professional engineer representing the project owner. The project is a country home sited on a view lot along a golf course fairway. The view....vista of Mt. Maunaloa with golf course foreground. The project exceution was efficient, smooth and improved as Arnold shared his 35 years of experience with cedar and construction at remote locations on Island of Hawaii. Arnold, a former teacher and high school principal, maintained a continuing line of communication between the owner, contractors, suppliers, designer and government regulatory agencies. Every audio/visual/it technique, device and equipment were deployed to keep information and understanding flowing. Such management is essential to a successful project. For residential projects utilizing cedar, especially in Hawaii, Arnold is recommended without reservations.”

“Brian Bennetts has been lead man on 2 construction jobs at my coffee farm, Sacred Grounds. He is an honest and fair man, easy to work with, and extremely competent. The first project was a studio/workshop, 44'x48'. It is a two story building. There were several changes made during the construction process, which Brian was able to adjust to and integrate into the overall plan. The ability to mid-stream problem solve, with foresight to the end product, is one of Brian's valuable attributes. He kept the project moving forward in a cost efficient way without sacrificing quality. He worked well in supervising, training and motivating the other guys on the job. He has an invaluable eye for safety. There were no injuries on either project. The second project was a cottage and shower room.
