“Arrived on time. Was pleasant, conveyed his ideas clearly and the finished product shows it. Picture shown was exactly what was built and in a timely fashion. The finished product was even better than I had hoped and he added his own personal touch like functional drawers underneath for added storage. Am super pleased with the fit and finish! “We are musicians that use our home to both teach students and do recordings. With the arrival of our baby, we knew that space would become a consideration, and thoughts of building a backyard studio quickly became reality. From our initial consultation with Sebastian Kellner at Backyard Escapes Studios, we were excited to learn that a studio could be built that would serve as a creative space for both me and my wife, more cost effective than a house addition would ever have been. Our 12 by 16 studio required a permit, and Sebastian provided us with an engineer whose drawings facilitated the permit process. Throughout the entire process prior to construction, Sebastian was very communicative, and assisted with decisions on how to proceed. Once everything was in place with the permit, foundation, etc. Sebastian and his assistants quickly erected the studio on site in 3 days. The end result was a stellar space that is currently in the process of being finished on the interior. The work was done well, timely, and completely honouring the cost initially quoted. Sebastian even made a separate trip to our home to complete the insulation and vapour barrier after the electrician did the wiring. This was our first time working with someone to design such a structure, and I can honestly say, that with such a kind-hearted, detail-oriented, and competent individual like Sebastian, we were in very good hands throughout the entire project. I would highly recommend Backyard Escapes Studios to anyone looking to expand their living space, eliminate a work commute, or simply create a backyard "man cave" or "she shed" to get away from the noise at home. Sebastian has integrity, and is committed to your satisfaction, as my wife and I can both attest to.”

“In the spring of 2012 we met with a few different deck building companies and discussed our ideas for our backyard. We asked each one of them to come back to us combining their expertise with what we had discussed with the balance of the plans we had for our yard. Hickory Dickory had totally paid attention to all of the details we had mentioned and came to us with a couple of designs. We were very impressed with the way each meeting was handled. Making changes and tweaking the drawings were never a problem and everything fell into place. There were no surprises everything was done exactly as planned and agreed upon. We made a few last minute changes without any issues. They have a great team of people that work together and do quality work. You can tell they love what they do and have pride in their work. We highly recommend them. We have had some friends build decks with them now and they also have had nothing but good things to say.”

“Dealings with Kosta and Mike was the most pleasant I have had with any company. Their professionalism was impeccable. From the time we sat down with Kosta to the last few details that Mike took care of for us, on his own time, we had an uncomplicated and problem free experience. They were respectful and never came so early in the morning that I could not enjoy my relaxing cup of java. The music was never loud while they worked and not at any time did I hear bad language. Smiles and a pleasant nature was how they did their work. They always seemed excited about our project. The work site was always clean and organized. We built a large deck with two upper balconies. The attention to detail in all aspects of the design and build has prompted many unsolicited compliments from both friends and other professional trades.”
