I feel fortunate to know local construction professionals that I can call about the smallest job as well as a major remodel. The job I needed seemed major to me--an addition to my garage--but Rick and the crew took it in stride. While that was being completed I came up with a second project (converting space in my attic from storage to a loft bedroom for grandkids) but I wanted to schedule it to avoid the Thanksgiving holiday. No problem, they were great to work with, and the results are terrific. Extra room in my garage and the grandkids are excited about their "fort" in the attic! “I was referred to Western Innovation System from a co-worker who got their kitchen redone by them. Jon and his team helped us with some kitchen and deck renovations. We had a deck redone awhile ago and Jon was able to catch some mistakes the other contractor previous made. I was really impressed with how smooth the kitchen reno process was- he pointed out some things about the original kitchen design that weren't quite right and he helped me make the kitchen a lot more functional than I had originally planned! It was clear that they had a lot of experience in this department and I'm glad I didn't decide to try to some some aspects myself to save on costs. I was also really impressed with the modern and clean finishing. He was so great with the main house that we decided to also hire him to do some renovations to turn our garage into a workspace. When we showed him our garage he pointed out that we had some rat droppings. We had rats! who knew? Jon was so courteous he helped us find an exterminator and helped us sanitize and throw out the junk from our space. He found people that were far cheaper than any other junk service we were calling. He then helped us seal up all the holes in the house and garage to make sure pests wouldn't be a further problem (There's a community garden on the corner of our block and I'm pretty sure the rats were coming from there). We are really happy with Jon and his team and would not hesitate to call him back on another renovation, plumbing or electrical job. Really outstanding people and very honest. The whole process was really quick and the entire team was very communicative and professional throughout the process.”

“I had a small job insulating, framing and boarding a basement utility room. I had used John in the past to do my cedar fence in 2012 and was very happy with his work. John and his Dad took on the job themselves and worked to insulate the concrete walls with rigid insulation and then work in a stud wall. There were a lot of things (plumbing gas and vents) that required finicky fitting. They put in another layer of insulation and a vapor barrier and drywall. Then they mudded the board and sanded it. I primed and painted the walls and put indoor/outdoor carpet on the concrete floor. I am very pleased with the result. They were also a pleasure to have in my house, clean talking, and respectful of my home. Highly recommended!”

“Overall I would definitely recommend these guys. Work Performed: 2nd floor Decking (Ceder Back yard), Rear Patio (Face lift) and Stairwell (interior) along with some retaining walls in the yard for landscaping and some minor cosmetic stain and painting (exterior and interior). The quality was top notch and performed on time. Additionally the service was flexible - some later hours were put in after I changed my mind mid-project on a couple of small points. Even with these changes the quote came in on budget at just a hair under 12k. Input from owner/operator Mike at the quoting stage was really helpful - he was able to explain the in and outs of the project and detail to me the work required in layman's terms. Knowledgeable and friendly, but most importantly honest and upfront - I was apprehensive at first to have the work done as it was a significant investment for me. I have heard horror stories of jobs being done by the bigger companies and projects coming in way over budget. It was nice to be able to have this done by a small local company instead of one of the big boys and at a competitive price. My Realtor told me that when I sell the house next summer my 12k investment should yield approx. a 25K return on the sale of the property - I'll take that any day of the week.
