“We used this builder for a new home build and we were very pleased with their work. They built a beautiful home for our family. Their bidding is accurate and if you happen to change/add anything along the way that will change the cost, they let you know what it will be and you sign off on it. They did quality work and they did it quickly and efficiently. They guide the homeowner through the process of choosing features one step at a time so that it's never overwhelming. The contractor manages all the different teams of workers--plumbers, electricians, etc. with professionalism and the homeowner is free to enjoy the building process. If you experience any problems, even after your home is built, they are quick to come and remedy them. Thirteen years later, we are still very happy with our home.”

“Darcy built our dream home in 2000. It is a magnificent piece of work, with many ingenuous ideas and custom additions that add to it's total uniqueness and beauty. The home is close to 4,000 sq ft. It is 2 stories, and has 4 bedrooms with custom closets, 4 and 1/2 baths, an upper level toy room, and a gift wrapping/storage room. The main level has a gorgeous custom kitchen with fireplace, a huge mudroom with utility sink and plenty of storage, a 2 story great room with fireplace and balcony, a beautiful office with French doors, and lovely dining room. The master bedroom is on the main level. The master bedroom and the kitchen have twin bump out bays with French doors that lead onto the patio. The full finished basement is complete with a full bath and has a huge fireplace, and a custom built "dog room", with a raised tub for easy canine bathing, and a walk out door to easily accommodate the comings and goings of pets. There are so many storage closets that even I, a huge pack rat, had empty shelves! The house also is heated and cooled with geo-thermal, with Darcy co-ordinating the installation of the system with the HVAC company. Darcy doesn't build many homes from scratch due to his refusal to lower his standards, and thus his price, as a home is being built. However, this did not deter us, and we were soo fortunate that he decided to take our project on. Yes, it was not a cheap build, however, it still stands today (unfortunately for me, with a new owner) as the standout home in Douglas County, Illinois. The basement was dug on March 2, 2000, and we were moving in on Oct 2nd of 2000. Not only did Darcy and his crew and sub-contractors do superior work, they were very timely with the build. Now that I have written about the home that Darcy built for us, I miss it even more than ever. It was a once in a time experience, and the 5 years we lived in the home were the happiest years of my life! So, thank you, Darcy for the experience and the happy memories.”

He provides you with a binder that includes your house plans, selection categories and when they need to be completed, directions and contact people to make those selections. Everything spelled out as to what will be done. You can contact him anytime with questions either by email or office phone, and provides his personal cell phone should you need him for anything. He will check and double check with you to be sure he has your preferences correct. He plans every construction phase down to the nth degree to be sure he will have your home ready by the time he promised, or before. After working with a different contractor I can say that working with Doug has been a sheer pleasure and I would recommend him to anyone.”
