She created the architectural design for our third floor kitchen and our downstairs duplex renovations, coming up with a series of design ideas that were both beautiful and within our budget. She helped select our contractor and collaborated with him during each stage of both projects. She made weekly visits to the job site, and just as importantly, the contractor would call Maria with questions as the work progressed thereby avoiding costly “do overs.” She completed both projects within our budget and even more surprisingly, on time! “We loved working with Jayne. She helped my husband and I design our 1500 square-foot dream condo with new furniture and lighting, as well as finding the best ways to incorporate some existing carpets, add new ones and blend in a few pieces of furniture that we wanted to keep. Since we were downsizing from a home to a condo, along with moving from Massachusetts to Virginia, Jayne worked with us to see what it was we really were going to want with our new lifestyle rather than just duplicating the past. For example, we realized that our retirement/rewirement would give us time for projects and that would offer the possibility of a different kind of desk. Jayne suggested a counter-high project desk with cubbies, one desk for my husband and one for me, rather than a traditional desk that had worked for us in the past. We've had the project desks for six months now and love them. Jayne also assisted us in finding art for focal points and ideas for window treatments. At times, we were working with other suppliers and she helped us coordinate the look and the style so that it all worked beautifully together. Jayne is creative, resourceful, responsive, intuitive, practical, fun and full of super ideas! Jayne is a problem solver, a visionary, and even a mediator at times LOL. As you can imagine my husband and I were not always on the same page. In fact we often were not and Jayne would help us talk it through and find something that would work for both of us. Jayne was also diligent about helping us save money. If she could find a shortcut or a way to splurge in a certain area where it really counted but cut back in other places that wouldn't matter so much, she was always looking for an angle. She's creative, resourceful, responsive, intuitive, practical, fun and full of super ideas! Jayne is a problem solver, a visionary, and even a mediator at times. It was such a pleasure to work with Jayne and co-create our dream condo. We live in a building with 90 other units and have been told repeatedly that our condo is the most beautiful in the building. Best of all, we truly love living here!”

“"Merging our two, distinct households of furniture with totally different tastes proved a real challenge. I like contemporary and my husband is a true traditionalist; our combined furnishings reflected both. Diane insisted on meeting with both of us together to be sure we were on the same page. When we first sat down to discuss our goals, we agreed we love our puppies, sailing, and entertaining. Agreeing on the same decorating style wasn't so easy. However, Diane found a way to use the pieces we each loved, together in a harmonious design scheme. For the dining room window treatments she selected traditional jewel tone geometric patterns, which appealed to us both. Then, in the living room she created a custom curtain rod that was actually square. It picked up on the square shapes in the pattern of the fabric that had a subtle nautical tone. Not only that, but the curtain rings were square too! The look is powerful, very modern and so stunning. My husband loves as much as I do. In selecting transitional furnishings to bridge the gaps, Diane recommended classic designs that had clean lines that we worked very well for us. Diane also helped us with furniture and rug placement, which made all the difference, tying a large room together beautifully. She even created a separate reading 'nook' surrounded by books, where my husband spends hours reading and relaxing. Next it was on to the bedroom for more window treatments. I initially picked bold, bright shades. However, Diane suggested calming colors, as it was the first thing you saw in the morning and last at night. She was so right in her suggestion! What impressed me was that Diane listened to my concerns and worked with the existing window hardware rather than replacing what was there. The result is a warm, calming bedroom with beautiful window treatments. When it came time to redoing our Billiards Room, we looked no further than Diane! The room was a large, segmented space, with paint that made it look and feel very cold. Diane chose paint colors that tied together the existing furnishings and rug, giving it the warmth it so needed. She transformed this area into an inviting room to watch a sporting event, movie, or play pool. Two adults with very different tastes.
