So in approximately three months we went from vision to design to permit and material type selection. She was able to help me figure out what I wanted, how to make it special, turn it into plans and help it all come together. Also, she went the extra mile to make things work. We started with my kitchen which was small and fraying around the edges. She suggested how to reconfigure my space, and then designed a spectacular kitchen and worked smoothly with my contractors to help guide the project through completion. At the same time I was changing around some rooms in my house and asked her for decorating advice and for furniture arrangement and acquisition suggestions. Her taste is exquisite and her vision was very helpful in each space she touched. An example is that she added a reclaimed wood wall to my guest bedroom which turned it from ordinary into spectacular. “I met with Alissa to discuss my plans for a design plan for a second kitchen in my house. I found her to be practical, honest and detail oriented. Even thought I did not end up working with her (because my project was very small and more of a do-it yourself type of plan, she explained), she gave me a lot of good ideas on how to save money and simplify my plan. I had planned to put in a lot of expensive custom made cupboards and a bar. She recommended that I use the shelving that was already in place and use a pre-fab bar rather than a custom made one. I just went to the store and found sliding glass doors to cover the shelves and a bar that folds into a table. It will save a good amount of money. I appreciated Alissa's suggestions and patience and would definitely hire her for a bigger project in the future.”
