“The Hursthouse team patiently spent many hours developing a detailed and extensive renovation plan for our entire property. Major features of the plan included: --installing a brick paver driveway bordered by a snapcut limestone retaining wall --installing bluestone front entry walk and porch --rebuilding backyard bluestone patio and new courtyard area with water fountain and cast iron fence border --extensive landscape lighting both front and back --installing imported planter urns on pedestals --extensive tree & shrub planting, perennials & ground cover. The design added great value and enhanced our enjoyment of our property in ways we never anticipated. “I highly recommend this company! Poul's has done all of our landscaping design and installation since our house was built. We have used their services several times during our phased-in landscaping approach. Their very talented landscape architects' designs are beautiful and they take the time to meet with you to determine the best plan for your specific area, tastes, lifestyle and budget. I really like the fact that they have their own nursery and you can walk their property with a professional to pick out just the right tree or shrub if you want. The trees they planted for us several years ago were amazing and continue to thrive providing us with beautiful shade in just the right spot. Most recently, we've cleared out a brush line and Poul's designed and installed new flowering bushes and perennials which have completely changed the look of our back yard.”

“I interviewed 5 landscape designers and settled on Lisa Creative Landscape because of her level of initial responsiveness and enthusiastic willingness to work with our small budget. She did an outstanding job! She came to our home, took pictures, measurements and provided us with an in-depth questionnaire in order to gauge our needs and design style. In less then a week, she sent us 3 amazing design options that took into account our current soft and hard scape, design style, budget, and needs. She is exceptionally talented, affordable, reliable and a great communicator. She is incredibly passionate about her work and it shows. You cannot get this level of landscape design at this price from anyone else in the Chicagoland area. Take my word for it.”

“We hired Bruss Landscaping after we bought our home as the landscaping needed a complete overhaul. We met with Tillie and what a breath of fresh air. She was the only landscaper that we met with who asked what we had in mind and what our budget was. She then took those ideas and worked within our budget as well as came back with some great ideas of her own. The project went flawlessly and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. The garden looks great and Stephen has continued to be helpful with respect to it several years later, always quick to answer any questions that have arisen. We are thrilled with the parkway and, shortly after it was completed, our neighbors, who were building a house across the street, asked if we minded if they would copy a signature piece of Stephen's design. Imitation, as is said, is the sincerest form of flattery. I would highly recommend Prassas Landscape Studio.”

“Brian and his team have done some phenomenal work us; from the design to the day-to-day work to the communication of how everything has been going, we have truly been impressed. Our front yard had been neglected for some time and needed a LOT of work. As soon as we reached out to Awad Landscapes through their website, we received a response and set up a meeting for them to check out our yard. As soon as Brian arrived, it was clear that he was a landscaping authority. He quickly let us know of any issues we had inherited (grading issues, invasive bushes, etc.). He also began to give us some ideas on the types of things we could do to improve our curb appeal. In the design phase, we gave Brian a lot of leeway for creativity. The renderings he provided were absolutely beautiful; we had NO changes to the design. He nailed it! He also let us know of the things that we could and couldn't do with the budget that we had in mind. We felt that he really wanted to work with us and was always quick to respond. When it ultimately came down to turning the design into a reality, we were even more impressed by Brian and his team's work ethic. Brian's team was working late hours, even weekends, to get all of the work done for us. Upon seeing rain in the forecast one Sunday morning, a member of Brian's team came to get some work done and cover anything that could be damaged. After the rain had come through, he came back later that day to finish the job. Truly impressive work ethic and customer service. Of course, the work itself, which included hard and softscapes, came out beautifully; even better than we had imagined! Brian used quality products and upgraded our brick pavers. He helped us absorb some of the additional costs due to unforeseen conditions and set up sprinklers for us on timers to water our sod when we were away at work. He's also been making trips up to our house every so often just to see how things are going or to add mulch in different areas to improve the look of our yard. Brian and his team have truly been a pleasure to work with. We know that we can always keep his contact information handy in the event that we have any questions or more landscaping work and we've received numerous compliments on our yard ever since.”

“From our first meeting with Tom Kusmerz, The Barn Nursery, we were sold on working with that company and looked no further. Through conversation and walking around on our property, Tom was able to create a hardscape design concept that we just loved. Our retaining wall was failing and we needed to redesign the whole thing. With his help we chose natural stone that blended well with our existing house brick and pool decking and gave us both the color and natural look we were after. Tom worked with our pool and concrete contractors so everything on our project was done in the right order and no one had to wait on someone else. With Tom's design on our retaining wall and how the base materials were installed, we were able to reduce the costs of our concrete decking repair by half of the original bid and we have a beautiful, natural looking retaining wall that will last forever. The crews working on our project from The Barn Nursery were great. I looked forward to their arrival every morning. They were neat, efficient, friendly and very hard working. I could tell that they really took pride in their workmanship and the job came out beautifully. My family and I look forward to their return in the spring to help us with our plantings. It was a truly great experience working with this company and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.”
