“I bought my house in 2003 and it was painted at that time. Less than 8 years later, the paint was cracking and peeling off and looked like it hadn't been painted since the 1950s. The sunshine yellow color I had loved was washed out, I did my homework and interviewed several painting contractors. I have a 2550 sq. ft. two-story home with a steep front facade and the estimates ranged from $2800 to $1800. Brad was one of the two estimates in the middle. The factors that made me choose Brad were: - Professionalism. He arrived on time, was personable, and got back to me with an estimate within a reasonable amount of time. - He did not regale me with a lot of things that were wrong or weird about my house as a justification to pad the estimate with extra charges. A few of the people I interviewed did that and I immediately ruled them out as not being able to do their job. - I had researched paints and wanted a particular brand. He said Miller Paint, which is learned most people use in the Northwest, can match any color, but I had my heart set of another brand. Unlike several others, he did not have his preferred brand in his contract. - I had a gut feeling about his integrity and went with the still small voice. It did not steer me wrong, After I'd committed, I went through an elaborate ritual choosing the paint colors, painting large plywood boards and moving them around the house at different times of day to see the colors in different light. I finally settled on, wait for it, gray and gray and gray and white. Brad took this in stride. On the promised day the painters arrived and did an excellent job. I have cobbles and had expressed concern about overspray on the cobbles. I came home to no overspray. There was one snag with the garage doors. The garage doors were new and when I came home they were gray. Brad 911! He had them out the same week, had the specifications from the place where I'd bought the doors, and you could not tell they'd been painted. Nine years later, you still can't tell. Mistakes happen, but are they fixed and fixed correctly in a reasonable amount of time? Yes, they were. As promised, Brad and I did a final walkthrough at the end. There were a few spots that required more cleanup and I drew these to his attention.. He found a few other things that I had not noticed where the job was not up to his standards. He added these to the list, Two days later, it was all completed. I will use them again.”
